This is so fun to use! I love adding that little bit of elegance on pretty much anything. I went to a restaurant once and they had gold leaf on the bacon and it was so fun for a special event we felt it was very fancy. This is a way to do that at home or on cakes. The elegance that it adds is unparalleled.

This is a review for Edible Gold Leaf 24K by Cakebon - Cake Decorations, Loose Gold Leaf Sheets - 1.5 inches, 12 Gold Foil SheetsThese Edible Gold Leaf 24K by Cakebon are great! High shine and very delicate - each 1.5" sheet is leafed between paper to keep it separate. These are a small size so easily applied to smaller truffles or as decoration to desserts. They are very delicate and light so be careful when you are working with them. These are really nice and make desserts look really special.

This is my first time personally using and buying gold leaf, and it couldn't have been with a more perfect set! You just 5 squares, and each leaf is individually wrapped in tissue paper, making it as convenient as possible to work with. When considering the convenience/fool-proofing, the small (but sufficient for a single project) amount of gold leaf, and consequently affordable pricing, I think this offering from CakeBon is ideal for anyone wanting to try gold-leaf for their first time!

I wanted to elevate a dish I was preparing for Valentines and these definitely did not disappoint! You get five sheets of edible gold leaf per pack, and each one has been nicely packaged for easy application. Although I say easy, it is still a very finicky product to work with since gold leaf tends to stick to anything very easily. It takes a quick and decisive hand to make the most out of this product. Each sheet is an inch and a half long and wide, which gives you plenty to work with for decorating some beautiful desserts for a special occasion.Very lovely gold sheets, really adds that touch of class and elegance to anything for a relatively inexpensive price!

If you've ever worked with edible gold leaf before, you know how fiddly it can be. It has to be that thin to be edible, but it also makes it extremely touchy to work with. How the sheets are packed makes a huge difference in how usable they are. This product is nicely packaged to be as helpful to applying the gold leaf to the truffles (in this case) as possible, without the usual tearing and flying away. That said, get enough to practice a few times because by it's nature, edible gold leaf is touchy to work with and it takes getting used to.This product comes in a plastic covering that has to be cut open, but then inside the paper cover, there's a plastic resealable envelope that has an adhesive--I strongly recommend just cutting off the flap with the adhesive so it doesn't grab the tissue papers that the gold leaf comes on. It's then possible to use the sleeve to continue protecting the product without worrying that the adhesive will grab and ruin it.Beautiful product, put together in a way to be helpful for applying the gold leaf to baked goods.

If you've worked with gold leaf before you know that this is a very delicate, somewhat tedious material to work with. It's thinner than a spider web, and has to be handled delicately! It will stick to fingers, it will flap in the breeze of your breath or a ceiling fan, etc.. It's very fragile! That's just how gold leaf is.This is a fantastic package of gold leaf, reasonably priced, and individually wrapped in tissue paper for ease of handling. It's still tricky and sticky (because all real gold leaf is) but it's a great sized package for a one-off project. I didn't need or want a bunch - just some to embellish a cake for a business teacher. And this was perfect!I got him a small decorated chocolate cake from a local big box store, then applied the gold-leaf in crumples to elevate the cake. It came out looking really cool, and was a very inexpensive way to really personalize the cake. I don't get a lot of occasions to work with gold leaf, but if I do, I would buy this again. It behaves very much like the commercial version I used to deal with in a bakery setting.

These are good materal but size is very small. Packing in tissue papers and you need to be very careful to not drop or the gold leaf will stick to anything it touches. Only five very small sheets so will not be enough. Not easy to use as if use fingers, it will stick to finger. Need to use tweezer and need to careful to separate. Can't expose to wind or will shrink.

Be sure to note the size and qty- these are only 1.5 inches square, and you get 5 sheets. They seem to be good gold leaf sheets otherwise, but at the current cost of 7 bucks, or $1.40 a sheet, this is very pricey compared to others, so may only be the best choice if you only need this many and will never use more again.
