The 20" chainsaw is a beast! I never took it off eco mode because I didn't need to. The brake works well, and the app connected easily and helped me register the tool with Ego, seamlessly. I own many Ego tools, and as with all the others, the saw is well built, feels very sturdy and built to last. I highly recommend if you need a huge saw that can get the job done quickly and efficiently. If this is your first chainsaw, I would recommend the 12 or 14" bar instead. This saw is no joke and could do serious damage in a heart beat if not used safely due to inexperience.

My neighbor, also a female, and I have their blower and use it so often. We both decided it was our favorite "toy" it is so easy to use and reliable. So I thought I'd try their chainsaw after having bought another brand that failed miserably. No surprise, it works like a charm! As a 67-year-old woman, keeping a massive yard cleaned up after a windstorm is no easy feat but definitely made doable with this great chainsaw!

Excellent tool with t he good power. I own 2 Stihl gas saws and this is so much more convenient to use.

I had a Silver Maple removed. Per our contract, the company chipped all it could and left the larger logs and trunk for me to deal with.I bucked (cut to useable size) the logs with my 14 and 18-inch Ego chainsaws. They worked great. Most of the rounds and chunks were already picked up by many people for their fire pits or furnaces.I knew the 5-6 foot diameter trunk would be more difficult. I ordered the Ego 20-inch saw expecting the extra 2 inches and more powerful motor would do the job.I was right. The 20-inch saw tore through the trunk creating over 100 gallons of wood chips/dust. I had to reduce the trunk to about 25% of its starting size so the City would pick it up.I used 3 - 7.5 Ah and 5 - 5.0 Ah batteries with 3 quick chargers. As soon as I depleted a battery I put it on a charger. I limited myself to 3 hours at a time and the 8 batteries were able to keep up. Do not expect to use this saw hard with only 1 battery. To get full speed out of it you need a 6.0 Ah or greater battery.I was very happy I bought the 20-inch saw although I think the 18-inch saw would have been able to do the job but would have taken longer. This 20-inch saw is heavy with the 7.5 Ah batteries but is manageable in vertical cuts where its weight provides a downward force on the chain. Horizontal cuts were tiring.

I bought this since I live in a wooded area. I’m not using it to cut down trees on a daily basis, just as piece of mind for when one falls in a storm. So far, it easily took care of ten pretty large tree trunks that had fallen and needed split for moving. I also bought this without the battery since I had other batteries at home from previous tools. It worked just fine with a 5.0 amp Ego battery and had plenty of life left. It is powerful and cut like butter. I do not regret buying this to have for my property.

I bought this saw in June 2024, and it worked flawlessly until October 2024, then the oil pump quit working. I went to their website egopowerplus.com and was connected to a young lady with a foreign accent who knew nothing about chainsaws. She said the 90 day warranty had expired. I said fine, can I order the part from Ego direct? She said no but I had to use their 3rd party vendor. Getting parts for the CS2000 is hard for some reason. I have ordered the part but had to order the whole oil assembly (oil pump, oil tank, 12v DC motor, etc.) and am awaiting delivery. BTW, my local Ace Hardware sells Ego chainsaws but do not service them, and you cannot find any service repair locations on their website either. Just my 2 cents.

I have used the chainsaw only once. I am impressed how powerful it is. Big fan of EGO tools. Used 7.5 Ah battery.

Having owned and used several other brands of battery "chainsaws," my opinion was they were good for small limbs and light jobs. However, the Ego CS2000 is a real chainsaw with power and cutting performance comparable to a quality gas chainsaw. I used this saw to completely cut up two white pines that were over 60 feet tall with trunks of 30 and 36 inches in diameter.I like the saw's light, it effectively lights up the bar and cut area at night. The saw cut through the trunks quickly with no hesitation. Making a cut from each side (slicing on the ground) took about 45-60 seconds on each side, well under 2 minutes to make a complete cut. I used the "medium" speed to minimize the rate of battery discharge. While this saw works great for me as a homeowner for occasional tree removal, there are limitations for someone who needs to cut for extended periods of time. I was using 7.5ah Ego batteries. Cutting limbs and branches up to 8-10 inches in diameter, the battery would last for 1-2 hours and discharge well with little heat buildup. While the saw handled the trunk cutting well, this definitely tested the limits of the batteries. After 25+ minutes of continuous trunk cutting, the red indicator lights on the battery would start flashing, saw would stop, and the battery was definitely very warm to the touch. After sitting for 5+ minutes, the battery was functional again and usually displaying 2 out of 5 capacity lights. If you have multiple batteries, it's no problem, just a 10 second battery swap and keep cutting. However, it tests the limits of the battery and would probably lead to a short battery life if this were done on a daily/regular basis. Ego batteries are EXPENSIVE.Overall I'm happy with the saw. I finally have an electric chainsaw that can make heavy duty cuts. I no longer have to inhale 2stroke fumes, no damage to my hearing, no drive to a distant gas station in search of ethanol free fuel, and no wasted time cleaning carbs and plugs. The saw starts easily and immediately every time. I no longer deal with any of the choking, starting, compression issues associated with gas saws, especially for those of us who don't run our saws every day.Maybe not the best choice for a professional tree removal expert doing everyday heavy cutting, but it's a great option for the other 99 percent of the population.
