The radio light is yellow. Not blue as pictured. Also there is no way to turn off the light under the solar panel. You can't position the solar panel out of the way of the strap. The strap blocks light and if you move the solar panel the light under it comes on. No way to turn it off. I would've bought a different one had I known these things. Who makes a light you can't turn off?

The battery in this thing must be older than me (and that's old). It arrived completely dead, and 2 days of full sun didn't help. 3 minutes of hand-cranking got it to the low-battery indicator, that's it. Hooking it up to USB power finally worked, but that's ridiculous since its whole reason for existence is to work by itself! I ran it for 10 minutes (in the sun), put it away for 3 days, and now it's totally dead again. More time in the sun, more hand-cranking. Nothing. Junk. I stupidly popped for a $20 replacement battery, which also died. This radio must REALLY be draining these batteries. While it worked, I discovered more annoyances: 1) the low battery indicator is very similar to the charging indicator (both use the same icon) so it's hard to tell which is which. 2) Most of the controls have multiple functions, many of which aren't labeled. For instance, turning on the radio requires pressing and holding the Power button (merely pressing the Power button only turns on the clock). 3) In radio-congested cities like mine, it takes FOREVER to tune to a middle-of-the-dial station, because the tuner--whether holding the Tuning button or not--stops at every station. That's normally what a Scan button would do, right? Surprise! there's an actual Scan button (whose other unlabeled function is to add station presets, a bizarre process that's unexplained in the manual), but that Scan button only tunes up, not down. And it also stops at every station. Grr. 4) Tuning to your favorite FM station in the US will take twice as long because this is a "world" radio and tunes to both even- and odd-numbered FM channels (in the United States, even-numbered FM stations don't exist). So... unlike others' experiences, I wasted a cool $40 bucks on this thing.

All functions appears to work. Reception is not the best and the sound can be better but this is not intended for high fidelity and I have not tried the weather channels. For emergencies, it will work.

I really like this radio and its multi-function capabilities. It has a 5,000 MaH internal rechargeable battery that holds a lot of juice. The solar panels extend battery life while in use on a sunny day. It includes a combination traditional and LED flashlight that you can use with just the traditional bulb, LED-only or with both types of lights on. It even has an SOS alarm that flashes the SOS signal with the light while sounding an alarm. It holds three internal batteries, which could be disposable or rechargeable AAA batteries. The antenna tucks away nicely inside the case and pulls out and has a shoulder socket so you can configure it as needed. It has AM/FM/Weather Band capability, which is great. And the size is reasonably portable. You can't fit it in your pocket, but it will fit in a backpack or a tackle box. This is ideal for motorcycle rides, fishing, camping, general use, etc. Also has a decent speaker and is easy to hear from a distance.
