Product Description

TENOR UKULELE

I'm Nova U Pro! Here I am.

After the concert and soprano Nova U, "when is there gonna be a tenor" is the most frequently asked question that we've got on social media and in emails. And finally, the tenor is here. And we call it - Nova U Pro.

TENOR UKULELE

Metal frets are finally here.

Ever since we launched the first Nova U, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. But our fans do ask for a Nova U with metal frets. You ask, we listen. After tons of trials, metal frets are finally here. Not only they are metal and never worn, but we've also polished them to get the rounded head fret ends, making sure that they do not scratch your hands. Please feel free to drop in the low G string and start playing.

TENOR UKULELE

It sounds like the real thing.

Let's be honest here. One of your biggest concerns when considering carbon fiber instruments is whether they sound as good as wood. Yep, we get you. This time, we've upgraded our carbon fiber composite formulae as well as the bracing design, making sure that Nova U Pro has the same tonal characters as your other wood-built instruments. It sounds like the real thing. That warmth of mahogany, that crisp of KOA, that vibration through your left hand... It has them all.

TENOR UKULELE

Nova U Pro might be that uke for you.

If you need a durable ukulele, that sounds amazing, plays great, is beautiful to look at, a ukulele that will stand by you through thick and thin, up and down, a ukulele that you can even leave to your children when they grow up; Then Nova U Pro might be that uke for you.

TENOR UKULELE

AcousticPlus Control Panel

Vol./Trans.

First thing, this is a press knob. Whether plugged or not, the AcousticPlus system is engaged by pressing and holding the knob for 3 seconds, and then the indicator light turns green. Turn the knob clockwise to adjust the overall level of the reverb, chorus, and delay. And when it’s plugged, the knob also controls the overall output volume.

Reverb

This knob basically determines the decay of the reverb. Turn clockwise, you get longer decay, which means bigger reverb.

Chorus/Delay

On the left half, the knob controls the depth of the chorus. Turn clockwise to get bigger depth. On the right half, the knob controls the rate of the delay. Turn clockwise to get a longer rate.

TENOR UKULELE

AcousticPlus Back Panel

Charging Port

The AcousticPlus on our ukuleles is USB-rechargeable. No need to swamp out batteries at all. Just use a regular USB cable to charge the uke. Usually, it takes 2 hours to get it fully charged, and it will be enough for 4 hours of use.

Output Jack

Basically, it's where the uke gets "plugged" to get amplified through PAs or any other amplifiers.

Indicator Light

When charging, the indicator light turns red. When it's fully charged, it turns green.

Good weight; feels great; sounds amazing; love that it doesn't use watch batteries, but USB.

Don’t hesitate, very fun to play! The effects are slimmer than you’d expect and it’s not loud at all. You can only hear it at home. But overall closer feel to guitar and nicer neck but interestingly the acoustics are lesser than the previous smaller bodies. The stings are thicker on this model I’m thinking to try the Nova U strings in this to see if I can get closer tothat sound which was brighter and louder.

Just to be clear, I have added to my ukulele as you can see in the picture. I own three other ukuleles but I am far from a professional. I own another electric and even a high end Kanile'a Ukulele. This doesn't sound like a Kanile'a, but it sounds pretty darn good. I originally ordered this without the electric sound effects. Then quickly changed my order while I still could. So glad I did. This doesn't require the amp and cords like my other uke does. I can sit anywhere and get the fun sound by pushing a button. It's worth the extra cost. This stays tuned after the strings stretch. The body is smooth well sculpted. Love the sound hole facing up towards me. Love the color combination of black and white. The tuners are high quality. The fret board and frets are top notch. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a durable and fun uke. I will definitly replace this if I ever need to. Buy it.

My sixth ukulele. Sound is really nice. I live in Florida and am looking forward to having a ukulele I can leave in a car during the summer.

I love my Enya. It arrived well set up and plays like butter. The built-in effects are nice, but not great compared to using external effects pedals, but then again they are practically free. It sounds nice, but not quite as good as a traditional wood ukulele, but is pleasing to the ear in it's own rite.

This thing really exceeded my expectations. I was worried that it would sound cheap since it's not wood, but I love the tone it has. It's my new favorite. The fretboard and the nicely shaped neck make it feel really nice to play, too.I assumed the gig bag was going to just be a normal, cloth bag, but this is like a nice, semi-rigid case which actually offers some protection. Durability is one of the reasons I wanted this uke so that was a plus. The capo is plastic and seems a little cheap, but that's okay. It still works just fine and I have other ones, anyways. It was a relief, too, that the capo and strap that came with my uke were black, even though the accessories that appear in the product photo are white.I haven't played it on an amp yet so I don't know how good the pickup sounds, but the onboard effects are kind of fun.I'd definitely recommend this. Very happy with it. If you're a beginner or buying it for a beginner, you may want to get picks and/or a tuner since this bundle doesn't include those.

I’ve been playing a very good looking and nice sounding Oscar Schmidt tenor ukulele tuned low g and wanted something that was easier to transport, particularly by aircraft carry-on. This concert carbon fiber ukulele is a little shorter and much, much thinner. Weight seems about the same. The carbon fiber should be able to take a little more handling abuse. The sound with high g tuning is not as full as my tenor, but is much brighter for a more conventional ukulele sound. There are three modes: acoustic (acousticplus-off), acousticplus-on without external amplifier, and acousticplus-on with external amplifier. The sound is as good or better through my JBL Eon One Compact as it is acoustic. The acousticplus volume, reverb, and chorus/delay adjustments provide a minor change in sound when playing acoustic and much more influence on volume and slightly more on effects when attached to the amplified speaker. The case is much more than a simple gig bag — semi-stiff, well fitting with minimum size. Case has both handle and shoulder strap. Ukulele comes with strap buttons installed and has a strap. The neck is nearly as long as my tenor, but much narrower. I’m having some problems getting my large, arthritic fingers to work with the closely-spaced strings without muting adjacent strings with some chords. To those having difficulty tuning: all newly strung ukuleles will hold tune only for about 20 minutes initially while playing and a few hours just sitting. Be prepared to tune frequently for the first dozen or so playing sessions. Also, if you are continuing having tune problems, try strumming at a greater distance from the bridge. The best sound will generally result when strumming near the neck-to-soundbox intersection.

Usage personnel.

Great little ukulele. I own 6 other ukuleles, one baritone, 4 tenors, and 1 banjolele. The ukuleles range from laminate, mahogany, and a gorgeous custom made 5 string koa ukulele from Hawaii. The sound of the Enya is a little more guitar like with the reverb but it is just too cool whether you use an amplifier or just the built-in sound system. It sounds pretty good if you don't want to spend the extra money for the reverb system but if your budget allows, I think it's worth it. I chose the concert size as I'm a 74 year old woman with some arthritis in my fingers and I felt the closer frets might buy me something. It is definitely easier playing bar chords. You can't go wrong with this purchase! It's definitely my "go to" friend. I always name my ukes. I named this one "YA". The other beauty of having a travel uke is you don't need to worry about temperature changes, moisture etc. I will be taking "YA" out in my kayak this summer and serenade the loons on our lake. I'm talking about the birds, not the neighbors! 😂
