Your cart is empty.The Evolv Defy Lace Climbing Shoe is an advanced entry-level rock shoe. Designed with slight asymmetry and camber, the Defy Lace allows for more precise foot placements, helping new climbers improve more quickly when compared to most flat, symmetric beginner climbing shoes. Ideal for climbers who want to customize the fit of their rock shoes, the ¾ speed-lace option lets you cinch them down for a bit of extra precision and performance. The lace-up version also has a slightly higher PSR rating (5) than the Defy (strap closure) and a 4.2mm outsole, making it a more powerful option while retaining enough sensitivity to learn proper foot technique. We made the upper out of a perforated microsuede for increased breathability, and the TRAX SAS outsole is the stickiest rubber compound that we make.

There is a very short return window for a very expensive shoe. I bought it as a gift but even though I bought a size that was a full size larger , it still didn’t fit. And time I got it back from my nephew it was too late to return it. There are way too many other places to order on Amazon that have reasonable return policy.

I've owned my pair of Defy Lace shoes for about 1 year now, now on the 2nd sole, resoled with the original TRAX rubber. These shoes are great for chill indoor climbing, very comfy, but sticky and stiff enough to be better than rental shoes. Personally I think they're on par with the La Sportiva Tarantulace so honestly, whichever one you can find cheaper, you'll get a similar quality product.As other reviewers mentioned, these are smaller than expected but not dramatically smaller. My TC Pros are 44, Defy Lace is 44.5. For additional comparison, I wear 10.5 USA for my running shoe (HOKA), and the Defy Lace is listed as 11. I wear socks while climbing.

Ordered and received size 15 shoes label says US size 15 but are not even close more like a 10 or 11. My normal shoe size is 13.
