I noticed some folks complaining that the bevel on the screw holes is on the wrong side. Put them on the back of the shutter silly. These were obviously designed to be inset in a window frame with the shutter out on the wall.Perfect for a brick wall with recessed windows or other with deep window wells.

It worked for hanging my large cedar shutters. These are nearly 8ft tall and about 24 inch wide x1 inch and they are pretty heavy, maybe 45 to 50lbs. I don't like the offsets of the angles or depth of pintles. If I hung them correctly as they are designed, the shutters would lay flat against the house. Instead, I flipped them opposite so they would stick out further at the hinges to give a third dimension so you can determine that these are in fact real shutters from a distance. If I wanted them flat against the house,I could just screw them in like every house had. These can't close because of the way I hung them but I also didn't make them the exact width of the window so I'm okay with that.
