UPDATE SEPT 2024: Since my initial review back in Nov 2023, Feelworld had reached out to me and asked for details of the issues I described below. I was glad to see them implement fixes! They released an updated version of this monitor which fixed the issues I described below. I was able to exchange the old version for the updated version of this monitor. Thanks FeelWorld!1. I have not yet checked if the mounting arm is loose, but this was not too big of a deal.2a. 1/4-20 thread is properly sized now. Mounts attach just fine2b. The anti-twist openings/recesses were widened to accept the anti-twist pins with different measurements. I used the Smallrig 2905 monitor mount to connect to the 1/4-20 thread - holds and works great!I was also notified that the full version of the manual is available by scanning the QR code on the monitor. Good to know!================================================================================Original review:Brightness of the SH7 is good, great to have the touchscreen. Manual doesn't explain much, but after messing with it I found some stuff out on my own. Figured out that you have to hold the button down 3 seconds to power on, and press button once to lock or unlock the touchscreen - good features. The HDMI-SDI cross-conversion happens automatically; I was looking through menu to see where to turn it on, but there is no such option. It just converts - I tested the HDMI to SDI (haven't checked the SDI to HDMI though).Few nuisances (from original review):1) The bracket for mounting the monitor is loose at the cold-shoe connection; it pivots slightly back and forth a few degrees if you, especially if a connected cable pulls on the monitor. I tried tightening the nut on the connection, but did not succeed in making it tighter (using hex keys at top & bottom, and/or using pliers to tighten the nut. Left it as is, but might be a deal-breaker if you want to use the monitor arm.UPDATE: Haven't used the mounting bracket in the updated version. Used the Smallrig 2905 monitor mount to connect to the 1/4-20 thread. Feels like it sits better this way.So, I tried using it without the mount and sticking it directly on a monitor adapter. This is where pain points #2 comes in:2a) Using a Smallrig 2905 monitor mount - I could not screw in the mount! It seems like the opening in plastic housing/frame is not wide enough to fit in the 1/4-20 screw. Pushing the screw in caused some of the plastic to shave away, but the mount adapter did not fit in correctly. Ended up sitting in an awkard position. Update: fixed in the updated version.2b) The anti-twist pin on the same monitor mount adapter does not correspond to the opening on the monitor. There are holed on the monitor for that feature, but they are too far away from the 1/4-20 opening. So even if I managed to screw the adapter on, it would rotate around the connection.UPDATE: fixed in the updated version - anti-twist openings/recesses were widened to accept the anti-twist pins with different measurements.Perhaps the 1/4-20 openings are not designed for use with other adapters - which limits the use of mounts rather severely. With all the points above, and after struggling and scratching it up in the process, I am considering if this monitor is worth keeping. It seems it is not mount-friendly with either its own mount arm or other mount adapters.UPDATE: fixed in the updated version - 1/4-20 thread works as it should. Was able to screw in the smallrig mount as stated above.
