FEL-PRO ES 73046 Fuel Injector O-Ring Kit for Jeep Grand Cherokee

I can confirm this is absolutely NOT the correct part for a 3.6 liter pentastar engine. I have a 2014 Chrysler town and country. Same engine in a lot of Chrysler jeep and dodge vehicles. I see another review of someone with a 2014 wrangler that it does not work for. These injectors require 2 different sizes orings, one for the top of the injector that goes into the fuel rail and another for the bottom where it goes into the intake manifold. The stock oem orings are different colors to differentiate between sizes. The bag of orings I received had the correct part number but all the orings are the same size and are all black in color. These orings work perfect for the top of the injector going into the fuel rail but they do not fit correctly on the bottom.Do not install these on a 3.6 pentastar unless you would like to waste a lot of time and have a major headache. Unfortunately I didn’t notice since I was replacing a lot of different parts so I did install them. Here is the story:I needed to change my oil filter/cooler housing but I decided to change lots of sensors, spark plugs, orings, and clean the injectors to get ready for road trip season. I can say mine ran fine for a couple hours and then started getting a rough idle and all kinds codes. Too rich, too lean, random misfires. I cleaned the throttle body. No change. I changed the intake manifold gaskets again. No change. I did a smoke test for vacuum leaks but it did not leak for the 1psi on the tester.Then it wouldn’t even start up. Fouled out the brand new plugs. I changed map sensor. No change. Then I retested the injectors while they were still installed in the intake manifold and fuel rail. They seem to be working fine. No reason to pull them again right? But I pulled the rail off to check the orings anyway. I did everything else twice, why not double check everything while I’m down here. Well now. The injectors just slide right out of the intake. No prying. They are basically just laying in there. It’s a miracle it even ran fine for an hour. However I missed that when I was reassembling doesn’t matter now.I’ve been racking my brain for days trying to imagine what could be the problem. There’s only about 900 things it could have been. What started out as an oil filter housing change and somewhat of a maintenance refresh “while I was in there I might as well do this too” type of thing, turned into an absolute time waster over one piece I was least concerned about to begin with. I was cleaning injectors and replacing orings so I wouldn’t have to take the top of the engine apart 3 times. But guess what? I did anyway.I really hope this helps someone like me who has very little time and would like to save a few dollars that would be going to a mechanic. Go to the dealer and get the correct oem orings. The $10 extra is worth it. Especially when you’re riding around with 4 kids in the car…

I am very displeased with felpro, I purchased these because I was replacing a lower intake plenum on my 2012 wrangler and these were supposed to be a verified replacement part but after trying to install they clearly were not. The original part was two colors blue for the upper and red for the lower and they are slightly different in size and the felpro brand was the same size top and bottom ( the felpro was too small on the bottom) had to return to Amazon and purchase the correct ones from the parts store because they were not avail on Amazon when I did a search.

I ordered these to replace the original ones on my 2011 Dodge Journey. They fit perfect.

First, they fit spot on...I recommend doing this on a cold motor, why torture yourself. Doing these do take some technical skill, not the gaskets, but breaking down to get to the intake manifold and fuel rail and then proper reassembly (torque specs and such). My motor is a 2012 Dodge Pentastar 3.6L, which has a (2) piece manifold. Verify fit before installing by matching up an old upper and lower one with a new upper and lower one side by side and stacked. I write this for someone who isn't overly technical and to hopefully prevent redoing it.Please review a YouTube video or two or if you have instructions, ..read them and/or do both. Be comfortable before you start.When breaking things down you will get fuel leakage when it drains out of the rail(s). The gaskets themselves are fairly easy, they will be a bit rigid removing and installing on the injectors as they should be for a good seal. This should be obvious upon injector removal. Then before installing them into the manifold and fuel rail wells, clean them...dirt and grime can cause blockage and leaks. Be sure to apply a product like Vaseline (thin coat using a Q-tip) so you don't damage them when seating. The injector should "seat" into the hole snugly. If not, you may have incorrect sized gaskets for your application.After reassembly, don't put the engine cover pieces on yet, it's not best to try to start the vehicle right away. Turn the ignition key on, but don't roll the motor, this is to turn the fuel pump on and get fuel back into rail(s). Turn off the key, then roll it over and it should fire right up. Be sure to go out and check for any leaks or gas smell then finish putting on the engine cover pieces if all seems good. You do this because your fuel system pushes around 40+ lbs of pressure.Overall the install went easily and took about 90 leisurely minutes and she runs well.

Fit was good. Misfires are gone and idle is back to normal. Installed red on injector tips and black on rails.

didnt use the black ones, as they are intended to replace the factory blue ones,. but the injectors i bought came with smaller red ones, thats why i bought this set and it did the job.
