Originally intended to use on a Jaguar, but due the the short scale of the Jag, the intonation was way off. Make sure your donor guitar is standard fender scale before purchasing. Ended up buying a second hand Strat body and very happy with the results. Amazing clarity with 62-12 strings (A-A)Note-Takes two pin style tuners unless you’re wanting to drill new pilot holes.-Does not come with back plate or string tree-You will have to file the nut, or bring into a tech to handle that for you

Since Fender doesnt offer the 27" necks in the modshop (or in the custom shop) this was my only real option. i have 2 Squier Cabronita Baritones with 27" neck but wanted something with humbuckers and a bit better quality. This is gloss but the Pau Ferro fingerboard seems unfinished and is very nice. The poly on this is thinner than on my Squiers and feels really nice in the hand.Frets were perfect and fret ends were as well. No sprout at all, all level frets and really just a wonderful neck.I put this on a Chris Shiflett Telecaster Deluxe and it is just awesome.I really wish Fender would offer these with a 12" radius and Jumbo Frets, but i am so used to the 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets on my Squiers that it was not really an issue.

I purchased this neck from a different supplier. I honestly wouldn't have expected to be able to purchase these on Amazon. I installed mine on a Squire Mustang body. I originally purchased a Warmoth neck. Although the Warmoth neck was of good quality, the longer scale length was uncomfortable, and I felt a strain on my carpel tunnel in the lower frets. This slightly shorter 27" (measured) Fender neck feels much more familiar. The Mustang has a different scale length than a Strat, meaning that the bridge will need moved. THIS WONT WORK ON A MUSTANG WITH A TREMOLO BRIDGE. The flat slab body on the Mustang makes it easy to relocate the hardtail bridge 3/4" down. Be careful with the factory bridge screws - they're soft and it's easy to round out the head (that's why I'm only using four of the five). There will be 2 exposed screw holes on the body, and the bridge just barely covers the ground wire after it's moved.. Once the bridge is relocated, a standard (non-baritone) Strat neck could be installed as well. The plastic nut needs lots of work before use. It's pre-slotted, but these are only a reference to where the strings should go. The slots aren't deep enough to hold the strings in place. The nut was a bit tough to remove, requiring a few firm taps with a block of wood. I'm not sure why they would glue in a nut that needs finish work. The nut is also very high. I happen to have a very expensive set of Stew-Mac nut files, but most would be better served getting it fitted by a professional. After I deepened the string slots, I laid a piece of sand paper over the fretboard (to maintain the curve) and slowly removed quite a bit of material off of the bottom of the nut. The nut work alone took me about an hour with the right tools. It's a disappointing amount of time spent for a cheap plastic nut.My neck has a very nice finish on it, and looks great on the guitar. The frets aren't "leveled", but they're factory installed, and very useable out of the box. I wouldn't go to the trouble of leveling them, even if I had all the tools. It's a very nice neck.Playability is great. I achieved a very low action for a baritone. The neck is thicker than I was expecting, and it's somewhere between my normal Fender necks, and an acoustic neck. I wouldn't call it a boatneck, but it's definitely thicker than most electric guitars. Installing strings produced more relief than expected, especially given the thickness. Adjusting the truss rod cleaned everything up nicely.Overall, it was more work than anticipated, but the results were better than anticipated. I'm happy with my purchase. I tune between C standard and Drop A with Ernie Ball "Not Even Slinky' 12-56 strings. Relocating the bridge softens the attack of the bridge pickup, but the heavier strings hold their own. I love the fact that this unassuming little Mustang can make some pretty mean noise now.

Wow, the neck I got was absolutely beautiful. I ended up getting a figured pao ferro board and some really nice quilting in the maple. Every neck is different so I feel like I won the lottery here. It has a very comfortable modern c carve similar to my American strat. I believe it’s only 27” scale though not 27.5” which actually works better for me since I play between B and drop G on baritone.

Does exactly what it says - turns a regular Strat into a Baritone Strat. Plays great, good fretwork. Two things would have made it 5 stars - the fretboard edges could have been rounded easily, and maybe I'm wrong, but I think most people would prefer the nut slots to be close to done instead of almost non-existent. Be prepared to cut nut slots. That aside, I'd highly recommend this neck.

This neck has a gloss finish on the back. Description says it would be satin. Not the end of the world but, It is a baritone neck and they leveled the frets! That my biggest concern. Looks great. 5 stars minus 1 for incorrect description.

The one I received was surprisingly raw. The nut looked like it had been in the earliest stages of being dressed, or had been done by someone with very little experience. It was both rough and sharp. Also the first two frets were left unfinished on the thumb side, so it was rough on your hand. This issue would certainly have to be addressed to make it playable. Also the finish was far less desirable than I would have assumed for this price point.I wasn’t expecting perfection from a National brand, but they should really be ashamed of themselves for letting something like this make it out of the factory with their name on it.I decided the cost/time of fixing it up to the point it would be usable (much less to excellent shape) was way too much given that it’s a $400 neck!
