If you have a 12" older Fiskars paper cutter like the one pictured, this rotary papercutter bar does not fit. The new white bar seems to be made of hard plastic, so you can't trim it down to the correct size.

My very old paper trimmer needed a new cutting strip. I turned my old Strip three times, until it was completely cut through the strip. This was out of stock for a few weeks. This replacement saved me from having to replace my trimmer. The rotary blade lasts a long time before it needs replacing. Now with a new strip, it works like a new trimmer.

I have a grey-and-orange Fiskars 12" Desktop 45mm Rotary Trimmer with a silver guide rail. It is 20+ years old, and the unit is not labeled with a model number of its own. Embossed on the bottom, it says it originally used the replacement cutting strip model number 9594. This cutting strip with model number 9582 (also known as 195820) fits it perfectly.

This cut bar was a perfect fit for my Fiskars Trimmer 154480. I got a lot of use out of the original cut bar even though it scores easily. I use this trimmer daily and I found that I can extend the life of the cut bar by lightly sanding it with fine fine grit sandpaper before the grooves get too deep. However, the price of this replacement is so good that I may not bother!

These have two sides, and when flipped each half is usable. It's like getting four cutting strips! Being able to keep use my "old" Fiskars is the best part - if you prefer not adding to landfills.Everything considered, buying blades and these cutting bars I'm ahead of the game!I recommend these.

A caution for using this bar:[I use this bar with my Costco purchased, black and silver colored 12" Rotary Cutter, 45mm cutting wheels; original replacement cutting bar number for this cutter is #9582. For a visual reference: a web search reveals that Walmart currently sells that model: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fiskars-Titanium-10-Sheet-Rotary-Trimmer-Plastic-Base-20-x-13/21387752?srccode=cii_5784816&cpncode=30-192192684-2&adid=1500000000000029469730&veh=cse ]> One reviewer complains that the bar is a different material than expected, and already has a deep groove in it after a few uses.> Well, this bar is exactly like the bar that I was replacing, whether or not Fiskars has offered different materials at other times. This bar WILL develop a score mark after just one use, and it will deepen as more use is accumulated. The depth of the score mark will obviously depend upon how much downward pressure you apply while sliding the cutting wheel. This is the way the bar is supposed to work, and why it needs to have its cutting surface periodically renewed - by rotating to a fresh face, or by replacement. In a pinch - you can spend quite a bit of time and sand down the surface for some more life. Here's the issue you should concern yourself with...When you slide the cutting wheel mechanism to make a cut, the cutting wheel is free to wiggle a bit left and right. The basic issue is that with a casual cutting slide motion, there is nothing that constrains the wheel to move in an exact straight cut - it can wander a bit. This is a disadvantage of a consumer grade rotary cutter as opposed to a slicing guillotine blade cutter.> Solution: Especially for your first and earliest cuts on a new cutting bar surface: make sure that you while you slice, press the bottom (cutting) edge of the cutting wheel mechanism into the right side (outer guide edge) of the overhead cutting guide bar. This will force the cutting wheel to follow the straight edge of the guide bar. The cutting bar will develop its cutting groove - and that groove will be straight and parallel to the guide bar. Once the groove is in place, it will assist in keeping the cutting wheel in that same straight line track - resulting in straight edged cuts.> Problem: If you do not take care, and develop grooves in the cutting bar which are not straight and parallel to the cutting guide - you will find that for subsequent cuts, the cutting wheel will tend to follow the existing groove path. Pressing the wheel slide against the cutting guide in order to get a straight cut will now be less effective, as the wheel will be fighting to stay in its grooved track.SO - First: Get the initial cutting track straight - avoid later aggravation. Later on: always press the blade edge up against the cutting guide as you slide the cutter.

If you have Fiskars cutter and start to notice that it isn't cutting well and you think it is the blade, and you change the blade it doesn't make much of a difference check your cutting bar. The nice thing is that you can rotate it 4 times so ues all four sides before replacing. Once I learned this my "old dull" blades worked great. After you have used all 4 four sides then you need a replacement. I ordered the replacement and it works great. Very easy to install.
