5 stars for construction, -1 for actual usability. Does what it says, but Romex is pretty burly stuff, and it tends to drag this little rack around. Also, the guide 'loop' has sharp corners and tends to catch, scrape, and kink the wire that's going through it. Any wire lighter than household solid-core should work much better.BTW I got some tape that goes under dresser drawers to make them slide smoother, I think I'll try some of that on the guide loop.Single bearing at the bottom, none at the top. That's fine, the bottom is where a bearing is needed, and if the top causes problems, just shoot a little grease in there. No instructions included, but if you just look at the pics here, it's pretty obvious. One arm fell off in transit, fortunately the box caught all the parts. It doesn't really fold, it disassembles. If you want to travel with this, you'll probably want a bag to keep all the pieces together.

I have a similar product, now sold by Southwire, that I've found helpful when running wire. At times, I've wished I had two dispensers because pulling two cables could be easier than one cable twice. But I didn't get one until now.Initially, I thought this a duplicate of the Southwire product. While it shares similarities, and performs the same task, this is a nice update to the design. To begin with, the spool itself does not require assembly where the other product does. You only have to fold the support arms out and it's good to go. Getting the Southwire product assembled while not hard, can be frustrating if you have poor dexterity. The base for this product snaps together easily. The wire guide slides on to the spool's shaft and that assembly drops into the base. The spool has a sealed ball bearing at the bottom which ensures it spins easily. While it lacks one at the top, the bottom is where you'll need friction reduced.Rather than paint, this product is coated in a cadmium plating which will offer corrosion resistance. A criticisim I have of the coating is its rough texture. This makes it slightly harder to snap the feet into place or remove them. With time, I expect the interconnection points to wear smooth enough to negate that complaint.I look forward to putting this thing through its paces as I rewire portions of my old home.

nice little wire spinner. Heavy enough that it doesn’t move around on the floor while unrolling wire. I did deduct one star for the arm with the hole in it to guide the wire… it is not very smooth, and the edge could possibly damage the wire if caught wrong. A simple fix with a grinder or dremel tool though. I do like that you can use this on a 2x4 stud or the floor! Most spinners are either/or…

Well made item. Made to sit on floor OR has an adapter that allows it to be attached to a 2x4 at any height. A real plus for new construction. This is a great product for anyone who has ever hated pulling wire from the center hole in a romex wire box with the circular twist that make it much harder to pull through the holes to it's final destination. A great product.

Until rewiring and water lines on our current project, I might do myself a favor by suspending a 360° pneumatic hose fitting over this and loading hose on it so I can stop moving my compressor around. I'm getting older and things keep getting heavier. If it works ok and I get attached, I might have to order a second one to use for its intended purpose.Regardless of the experimental use...I can't see me ever running out Romex, PEX tubing, or anything that comes on a spool or as a coil for that matter, without one of these. When I started out I didn't know anything like it existed, and it was a serious pain. My old one I got in the '90s is long gone, so I was really happy to see this on Vine. Turned out that it's so much better that I'm sort of glad the old one disappeared. It was too light, wobbled a lot, got caught up, and always had to be clamped down. This one is like butter! I tried it with a 100' air hose already and it didn't chatter or stutter, didn't get caught up, and this thing did. not. move., even with the weight of the hose gone and the end of the hose rolling off.I know from past experience that this will make everything -wire, line, tubing, cable- easier. I don't know how I didn't get tied up in knots handling unspooled coils, and it did take diligence, extra time, sometimes another person, to avoid kinks and twists without a tool to manage it.Almost forgot to mention you can swap out spools or coils by just lifting off/dropping on, in case anyone wanted to know that for sure.Having any kind of line, wire, or tubing just roll on out, easy as pie, is mighty nice if the spools are heavy, coils are unwieldy, or especially with barbed wire or if you do these things pretty often.Even that old rinkydink dinosaur I had was a game-changer. This is light years beyond that.Almost makes me look like I know what I'm doing.
