In general I am quite healthy and my Garmin watch shows me when I am "off." When I have a migraine, my heart rate is definitely higher and such. I wanted my son to have the baseline health KPI while he is healthy and young and also tells him when he should chill out (because mother can only give the advice).He is a bike mechanic and sometimes hard on a watch, accidentally banging it. I thought this recessed design works better for him (and came with a screen protector). It's B&W, so the price point was perfect for me, but he can still check his metrics on Garmin Connect app on his phone in color.

I ditched my pixel watch because It died on me after 1 year it was really frustrating having to charge every night and not being able to sleep with it to track my sleep patterns, I happened to find this garmin smartwatch which for my needs it's perfect, it never goes into sleep mode when I turn my wrist it's always on, battery lasts me about 25 days with notifications all day, I can read all my notifications from all my apps and view incoming calls, you can do basic replies on the watch and answer or hang up calls on your phone via the watch, even with my pixel watch I never used it to reply to messages all I ever did was read the notifications and reply on my phone so it's not a big deal for me. With the pixel watch I had all the Fitbit options but I had to pay a subscription, with this watch I have everything I had before but its FREE!! I highly recommend it for law enforcement or adventurous people that like to go hiking and stuff like that, the compass works really well really accurate and it's satellite dependant so you don't need a phone network.
