I'll start by saying that Garmin isn't the best company out there, they have a bad habit of getting into a area and buying other companies and then stopping and moving to something else. That said, they made a great bike computer. I didn't need to most expensive unit, but decided on this unit. The display is easy to read, and hooks to Wi-Fi so updates and downloads work fine. It supports a lot of various bike items like the Varia light/radar unit. You can select various screens while riding, from data to maps. There are different programs, Road, Mountain, etc. I use the road selection and watch my data as I'm riding a 1-mile loop for now. You use the Garmin Connect app on your phone and can see the results after or review it on the computer. I put on a case and screen protector to be safe. It mounts to the holder with a simple turn to lock it in place or remove it after the ride. I'm riding 5 miles a day currently and after about 2 weeks I still have 60% plus battery life. There is a simple USB-C port on the bottom under a cover to plug in and recharge the unit. There was a small sale when I purchased the unit so that helped some. Overall, I'm very happy with the unit and hopefully, it keeps working without any issues.

Garmin products overall are well made. Went for large screen for ease of reading. Fonts are large , screen is bright and switches btw bright and dark mode depending on light condition. Battery life is long - approx 20 to 25 hours of ride time. I dont use navigation function which would impact batter life. Functionality and customization is decent. There is learning curve and once set it is fairly straight forward.

Love this unit, I used it all last riding season. It keeps all my stats and syncs to my phone. The battery seems to hold up really well. Plenty of battery life for long rides/ day rides.

I purchased this particular computer for the large screen so that I can view several pieces of data. Unless you want all that data on one screen, you might want to consider a smaller, more compact computer. Battery life on this device is amazing even with GPS and bluetooth. And, Garmin just makes a great product. There's an incredible amount of features, and most of it is intuitive.

The accuracy and readability of this device is great. I find it very useful. The connectivity does work even while cycling from remote areas. There is good value for money.

I have this on my mountain bike. I would not be without it. Great to read while peddling and it takes the bounces of a rugged trail. A must have if you bike toad or mountain.

I like this a lot. I did a ride the day after I received it, using the route map provided online. Easy and nearly foolproof. The heart rate sensor and speed sensors connected with no problems. But try as I might, I cannot get the cadence sensor to connect to the device. I've tried a new battery and watching YouTube videos for help. No luck. While I don't HAVE to have a cadence sensor, for this price it should work as it is supposed to.

Over the years I have used at least 2 other types of Cycling computers. The Wahoo Elemnt and the more basic Garmin. I found it difficult fumbling to press the correct buttons to switch between screens/functions, etc. while on the out front mount. The 1030 plus has a touch screen (sensitivity can be adjusted) and simple and quick to swipe. You can customize and save multiple screens. I have it set up as a very basis 4 field screen, and can swipe to screens with more detailed information.I rarely use the Navigation, I know my routes before hand. I don't want navigation taking me down roads I want to avoid. I do save previously routes and can follow the same route on other occasions to compare my performance, and see time-distance to my destinations.Only drawback, cannot swipe screens with full finger gloves. But then finding and pressing the correct buttons with full finger gloves on other units is cumbersome. The price is high, but in my opinion, this is the best you can get and I am happy with the investment. The screen is larger than most others, (smaller than a smart phone) but find it not to be obtrusive.
