I have a Garmin Varia radar warning system. It did not work well with my phone. But it works great with this small display. I cannot believe how many times it has told me of cars on country roads that I simply did not see. The graphics are clear. The alarm precise. The map is small but accurate. The Varia does not come with this computer but the combo is a wonderful duo to keep you safe on your bike.

La bateria no dura nada. Hay que ponerlo en modo descanso con lo cual se apaga la pantalla. que sentido tiene tener el mapa y en color.Con razon salio el 2 que dudo sea mucho mejor

Es un ciclocompitador- GPS muy completo y potente, tiene todas las métricas de rendimiento y viaje qué todo mundo puede pedir de un dispositivo de este tipo, no registra métricas de potencia, pero para los ciclistas qué no compiten, o que no tienen potenciómetro es perfecto. Ni un solo incidente o fallo en más de 10000km, y por la mitad del costo de un 1030

For my riding objectives and style, no need to spend more for features I wont be using. This one works very well for me. If you do plan to buy this, you may need to get the Garmin EXTENDED out front mount. The regular sized out front mount is really more for smaller garmin bike computers.

The manual is not very informative about setting up the screens, IMHO. However after playing with it on a few rides, and such I finally got mine to where I want it. Works great. Long battery life. Linked to the phone app, its even better. Well worth the cost.As soon as I got it and connected it to the desktop app, it updated all my maps. These now show all the new bike paths in this area. And it can check for updates every time you connected to the app, either on the phone or on the computer. Love the Garmin Connect app. It really makes keeping track of your rides and data very easy if you are a goal orientated person. If you are like me and just out to ride for fun, it keeps track of that stuff too, like mileage, calories burned, time, etc. Lots of good info available on the screens. And the Touch Screen is very easy to use and understand how to get around using the menus.

I really like the functionality and ease of use of this Garmin Edge Explore - it has all the functionality I was lookin for in a road bike GPS and I didn't need all the dynamic performance extras. It has a great touch screen, clear and large. It has multiple functions on one screen, including current speed, average speed, cadence, miles and elevation. I also paired it with the Garmin Vaira Radar rear light and it works perfectly together. - perfect GPS for my purposes and the peace of mind of the rear radar light is well worth the investment.

On my first ride (fully charged, courses ready to go) the GPS took 6 min to find me. Only for the screen to entirely stop working, while displaying meaningless lines.My first google search on the problem, GARMIN explains..."Garmin Ltd. was the victim of a cyber attack that encrypted some of our systems on July 23, 2020."Protect yourself & your online privacy.I'm very disappointed.How can I trust that my data & my safety on the road is protected?This product isn't working for me so far.

I am a casual rider and this keeps track of my rides perfectly. Just turn it on and touch ride. You can choose what you want to see. Has maps as well. Great unit

I've always shied away from Garmins. No doubt they were capable and feature rich devices, but Garmin were more interested in making the bean counters happy than providing a competent and capable product at a reasonable price that most other casual or enthusiast riders could afford. With this new Edge Explore, I think they've finally hit the mark and provided a device that's a good "bang for your buck" with all the features you could want at a price most people wouldn't immediately scoff at.The color touchscreen could stand to be a tad brighter, but has good redraw/refresh rates for map navigation and is still easily viewable in direct sunlight. It is also very good and responsive at registering the various pokes and swipes you will need to navigate. The menu system is intuitive to get around and pairing with your smartphone and additional sensors is quick and painless.Battery life, for any device in today's age, could always use improvements to longevity and stamina. After almost two weeks of riding with it, I've noticed that out-of-the-box with all notifications and alerts turned on, battery percentage gets to around 70% after 1.5 hours and about 50-55% after about 3 hours of riding. Turning on battery saver mode and turning off unnecessary alerts will extend battery life but I'm still dubious that you can get anywhere near Garmin's stated value of 12 hours. Battery saver mode will turn off the screen after a few seconds. To reactivate your device, just touch the screen and use as normal before the device goes to sleep again. This is probably for the best as you should be focused on the road ahead instead of intently staring at the device as you ride anyway. If you're going to be riding for 5-6+ hours, then definitely have a power bank on hand to recharge the device.All in all, I've been very happy with the device thus far. If you don't need advanced training features like structured workouts, Strava Live Segments, or support for power meters, but you do want a no-frills device that can navigate you around turn-by-turn with a nice color touchscreen display, I suspect you will be very happy with the Edge Explore as well.
