It's one of those things you need to keep in your hardware bag if you play a small/shallow-depth bass drum. You need carpeting or a drum rug because this anchor does NOT prevent bass drum creep on a hard surface. But once spiked into a carpeted surface, it doesn't budge.

Decided to use my old premier kit as it's lighter than my pearl, but no spurs on the legs! Emergency buy saved the day. Fits perfectly and stopped the slipping like a treat. I play hard and use rubber matting.

Damn, I wish I would have bought this about 10 years ago. It’s a game changer with my ‘65 Club Date!

Should of invested in one of these a long time ago. Work exactly as advertised and stabilizes my kick drum with a thinner maple wood rim. It also ensures you get the legs even during setup.

This anchor seems to work OK, but not great. In order for it to work on my DW kit, the kick drum has to sit on it, which slightly tips the front of the drum up. Not a big deal, but it does change the angle of the drum a bit. Getting the kick drum legs to work with it correctly, was a bit of a challenge. Each leg and the anchor has to be even, so there is no roll or wobble. Time will tell if this will work better than a rug.

Artículo muy necesario pero desconocido por muchos bateristas. Tamaño muy práctico, buen material. olviden tapetes o cuerdas atadas al banco.

This anchor works exactly like it is described. I don’t understand why I never knew this existed until last month.I wish I would have bought one of these guys 10-15 years ago. As a drummer and an audience member, bass drum creep has been a noticeable distraction for countless shows I’ve been to over the years. Some pedal/drum/spur combos will never ever be completely stable; no matter how carefully you tinker with settings. If you are at all curious about this I would go ahead and order one. This bass drum anchor makes my 90’s kick with mismatched spurs feel as solid as a brand new one with the modern heavyweight hardware package. This takes a lot of the stress out of setting up for me, even in irregular venues. If you own one of those janky “house” drum sets for a punk basement or an open mic night, this should be a required purchase. Now that it’s under $10, it’s probably even cheaper than one of those cinder blocks or weights people always unsuccessfully use for the same purpose. The anchor is great, but remember to be careful of the spikes. They are uncovered and very sharp and long.

I am using my father’s vintage slingerland rock drum set from the 70s. That thing has the wimpiest bass drum legs, and there’s nothing that would stop it from sliding forward as I play. Using a double pedal, this makes the slave pedal useless once the bass drum has moved well out of position. After buying this Gibraltar anchor that I am writing this review on- now, I am confident that the bass drum will stay in place. I’ve only been able to use it for the last hour, but I haven’t had to pull the drum back and my slave pedal is still in position! It’s always a guessing game of how high I want to angle the bass drum- now, I just need to angle it so that this anchor is making contact with the ground. This makes it very easy for me to set up confidently for a gig.

Purchased these to alleviate walking from bass drums when playin.I had to lower the front a bit closer to the floor to make these dig in enough to hold. That was slightly disappointing but i do have to say they worked perfectly otherwise. Most solid my bass drums have ever been in my 15 years of playing.Great addition for the price

Gets the job done, but sometimes falls apart on the way to the gig. Make sure you tighten everything well before you begin to play as it tends to rattle loose otherwise. Sometimes it rattles loose anyway. Still, works well enough for me and costs a lot less than the Ludwig option.

i'm reviewing this because when i was shopping for one i couldn't find an answer to my question. that question was- if you take a marching (or concert) bass drum, drop it on the floor, put one of these on the end, can you play it with a drumkit? well, the answer is yes. i dont play overly hard, but my bass drum hasn't moved (14x24 ludwig maple marching bass) and the bass drum does not have any spurs, and my bass pedal does not have either velcro or spikes. nothing is mounted on that bass drum either, so theres no extra weight holding the drum down, essentially only the bass anchor stops it from moving. it works just fine. it feels a bit flimsy and is a little hard to get setup at first, but after i got it on it's no problem. especially since its only $12 or so, great buy, highly reccomended (weather your modding a bass drum for drumkit, or you just need to stop your BD from moving!)
