I got this as my son is keen to start to learn to weld. This is a great starter kit so now he has his own set of tools gloves and many hours of practicing to come

First off, the 4 piece set counts each glove as a "piece." I was trying to figure out what the fourth piece was before realizing this. That's fine. I ordered the set.The hammer is light duty, but fine for most non-professional work. The wire brush is of the quality you would expect from your local discount center. As for the gloves (only available in one size), are small-medium size. If you are an adult male with average or larger hands, you will struggle to get into these gloves. And assuming you do, they will be noticeably tight and uncomfortable to weld in. I even tried getting them wet before wearing them to see if the leather might stretch. It didn't. I normally wear work gloves of size "large." My son (about 6'3") who wears "extra-large" gloves tried to put them on and just laughed and gave up.So if you've got small hands, this kit is definitely a good buy. If you're not sure, go to a hardware store and try on a pair of small-medium roughout leather work gloves or welding gloves. If they're comfortable for you, then these will be, too.
