Does what it’s supposed to do, but much of the yogurt gets past the “plunge” feature and ends up topside. So you need to repeat.

I love greek yogurt and wanted to make my own. I thought I wanted something really thick, so I got this item to press more whey out. Well, I really don't need it. I let it filter out the whey for a day, and it's the right amount of firmness. Even over the next few days, the amount of whey is minimal. Highly recommend! It's the perfect size when starting with 1 Q. I could probably do 2 Q, but I don't have the right sized fermenter.

True to size, holds 2 quarts of Geneve yogurt and produces a finished quart of greek yogurt after straining the whey in the fridge in less than 12 hours with just gravity, no need to use the spring-loaded part. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the lid is a hard to open and snap closed.

This yogurt strainer is so much cheaper than some of the other brands sold on Amazon. It works exactly as stated. I found that I didn’t have much of a need for the pressure plate, as leaving the yogurt to strain removes enough whey on its own. The strainer fits yogurt made from about a half a gallon of milk with the caveat that I had to dump some of the whey out and let it strain for about an hour before I could put the rest of my batch in the container. I’m glad I purchased this and will use it every time I make yogurt at home!

I do not eat dairy, so I have never tried to make Greek Yogurt as the product name suggests. However: I have recently started making various seed cheeses. This works great for straining out the extra moisture to make a firmer product. I spoon in the fermented seed mixture once it has reached the proper level of fermentation; let it drain on its own for a few hours then add the pressure plate with the spring, to finish the product. The result is a much firmer cheese that can be shaped into balls or logs.I have even used this tool to strain out the fruit when I made homemade wine. the pulp was much drier than I had been able to achieve with other methods and the wine was much clearer, only requiring a little more time to let any cloudiness settle out.

I make my own yogurt and this is just perfect size to make labneh or Greek yogurt for my other recipes. Small fits in the fridge, makes enough for what I need, and easy to clean. Love it

We are trying it with some plain yogurt, after 4-5 hours it already strained lots of water, it will be a thicker yogurt sauce for sandwich. The strainer is very easy to use and clean, it arrived with user instructions and good packaging, a must-have for people who like thick and healthy sugerless yogurt!
