I ended up with a solid puck of “cream cheese consistency” from my homemade yogurt.I strained first and then used this device for pressing 24 hours.I can see adding flavorings like chives to the end product.It worked perfectly, I didn’t really know what to expect, but this exceeded my expectations.I may never have to buy cream cheese from the store again.

Now, I can't attest to how well this works as a yogurt or cheese making machine. But, I can say it's great for taking store bought yogurt and making it thicker/denser! That's actually why I got it. I like thick, custard consistency, yogurt. I'd been using a coffee filter, but it wasn't ideal. This is much, much better and far easier to clean! Now I can have thick yogurt whenever I want! Yay! Five stars!

A gadget that I had high hopes for but didn’t work out at all. I have spent years straining all of my yogurts and kefirs with cheesecloth. I can say this yogurt strainer did very little to strain my yogurt. I didn’t think it drained well, even after almost 18 hours! The instructions are not written well either. I ended up putting my yogurt into cheesecloth and had much better success. I like the concept, but in my kitchen it is a no go!

I make my own yogurt and when I want to thicken it I use the simple system of straining it through cheesecloth.When I saw this yogurt strainer, I thought it was a good idea.It's simple to use, although I would say that I usually make more yogurt than I can strain in this strainer, but other than that it's OK.I'm not sure if it's worth having another gadget taking up space in my cabinets when a cheesecloth does the job. But that's my personal opinion.It works, and if it's worth it to you, why not.

No directions were included, but very simple. I used it to make yogurt cheese which turned out great. Easy to clean with hot soapy water.Edie’s review and changed to 5 stars. Have used several times. Makes great yogurt cheese. Sturdy. Speeds up process of cheese making.
