Absolutely will not fit the GSI Glacier Stainless Steel camping 12 cup percolator I purchased in August 2020. Neck of the glass is a larger diameter than the hole + the thread is different to that of the acrylic perc top that came with the percolator. Pointless to try to force a fit otherwise you'll end up with a bent perc and broken glass. Don't even try it. Very disappointed, given that this item as it is supposed to be a universal top made by the same company that made my percolator! Suspect this is why they don't fit glass as standard on these Percs.

Yes glassview doesn't fit you have to take some steps to make it fit. It's pretty simple. But once you do this you still can't tighten it down while the coffee is percolating or cooling down.I first performed a tempering process. I place the glass top on a silicone pad that I had placed on a sheet pan. Placing the pan in a cool oven along with the glass top. Letting the oven heat up to 450 degrees. I did this while baking chicken about 45 minutes as to not waste the energy during this process. The most important process is the glass top stays in the oven until it is completely cool cannot be removed very important. I repeated this three times yes it seems like a lot of work this will help relieve some of the tensions inside the glass. This is a primitive process for tempering glass. It still doesn't mean it won't break. But once you do this you still can't tighten it down while the coffee is percolating. I'll give you instructions on how to do that. But once you do this you still can't tighten it down while the coffee is percolating.did not design this for this pot. This is only for cone (conical) shaped outdoor version (/ ). Here's the simple version pick some sandpaper and sand out the whole to make it larger. If the holes not big enough on the coffee pot expands at a different rate than the glass top it will crack. But more so than not it will crack during the cooling process if it's too tight.please keep in mind that no matter what you do it may still crack. This could happen on the first use or a use 10 years from now. So you need to make the whole a little larger than necessary so there's wiggle room. I use the rotary tool method with sandpaper attachment and a fine grinder attachment to smooth it out. Making a hole about 1/16 of an inch larger than it needed to be. This was the first time I use a rotary tool ever I was very careful so not to damage the coffee pot or injure myself. Always read the instruction booklet. Keep in mind while it's percolating it might tighten itself up. When you pull this percolator off the burner make sure it's loose. Leave it on the stove until it's completely cool do not put it in water do not take it off the stove. Most of all don't drop it.If this is cold before it starts percolating it will crackAnother good train of thought never put a percolator in a sink and leave it there with other dishes pots and pans it will surely Bend or break some part of it. Always wash it after it has cooled down set aside to drain and air dry.

I had a Bass Pro outdoor coffee pot, it has cheap plastic cap, but the stainless was way best one. When this plastic cap wear off and stains on it, I had to look for a new cap and I think glass cap would be better, when I order it and the first one come into broke pieces, they send other one, and I try it on, it doesn't fit, it is like really fraction, I just give up and have not think of other things for a while, but then, I got idea, maybe I can use a file or a grind to rub some of it off, but I find better way, I just have to find a 3/4 pcv and buy 400 and 800 grit steel sandpaper, then wrap it round on pcv.. Then I work through on it run all around and finished all, make sure no sharp edge, then try to fit it again and it FIT! I am glad it fit! After while use it, I was worrying about developing rust on rim, but no rust... You can do it, if it does not fit your coffee pot and it look like very fraction fit, just rub it off with 3/4 pcv and sandpaper... You will be happy...

I like this glass top vs. the resin one because the resin will melt if campfire flames get to it, the reason I'm having to replace with this one.As for the fit, no it didn't fit right off, assumed it would either be too loose or too tight, and it was too tight. My percolator lid is on a stainless Cabela's (14-cup?) made by GSI (Glacier Stainless). Tinkered with the opening on the lid because it looked a little too small so the first time I bent the lid opening slightly but that didn't work. Resorted to taking a grinder and very lightly grinding some of the thread off of the metal lid, NOT THE GLASS TOP, then carefully tried screwing the top in. At first it was tight then I forced it very lightly, not too much pressure, and it screwed right in rather easily and tightened down onto the lid. Looks great!

Item Shattered on second use. Unlike the top that came with my GSI 12 cup Peculator this top fits way too snugly. The original resin top had enough play so that it would be just perfect barely tight/ almost loose. The expansion during heating the pot would seal it tightly without breakage. Sadly, it got melted and I needed a replacement. I am willing to try the replacement again and see if it's consistent with the last top. I will update if the second one works or shatters again.UPDATE.I give this product 3 stars now. The second top fit perfectly and is loose enough to survive daily use. I like that it's clear and wont stain over time like the resin top did. The glass tops seem inconsistent in production. Now only time and care will tell how long it will last. I think for over all durability the resin top would be better as long as you don't melt the darn thing like I did.

Better than my original top that came with my Percolator. (My old one fit loosely with no threads & fell out and broke). With this one, you insert it in the top hole and twist to secure it with it's glass threads. The treads hold it snug and I don't worry about it falling out when I open the lid. I'm happy I can go back to using my old stove top percolator in the mornings without having to replace the whole thing. Double check the size you need before you order as they come in different sizes. The bottom of this piece is apprx 1 1/16th inch across. (My hole diameter for it was just under 1.25 inch). Made from real scorch-proof glass.--campfire safe per label that came with it.
