Some filing of the neck was required to allow correct installation on Ibanez AX120.

It improves a lot the precision and altitude of the strings, and it solved my issues with string buzzing; my only complaint is that the finish is too sharp on the edges, I installed it on a Jackson Rhoads and it's too pointy on the sides and it can cut if your'e playing fast or making bar chords on the 1st fret; I'll probably have to sand the edges. Other than that it serves its purpose, a very good improvement.

I don't know why ever guitar doesn't use this nut. It's a thousand times easier than filing one.I've even milled my own for some special string spacings and string counts on custom instrumentsBut if I need standard Gibson style spacing I still just buy one of these, cause you can't beat the price.

Fitted this to my open book headstock 1989 Epiphone SG400R as had some standard nut setting issues. So far has performed very well. Sound appears slightly brighter over the standard bone nut which is welcoming. Intonation is perfect and individual string height can be set to the finest margin. The only cause for concern whilst fitting is that the adjustable screws seem to get looser as you raise the height but once fitted and tentioned under the strings they appear rock solid. A really good upgrade so far and very pleased with the purchase

Bought this to replace the cheap plastic nut on my epi sg pro. After 2 hours of fiddling it is definitely an improvement. Had to shim it a bit with thin cardboard. It sat a bit too low without the shim. Also had to use a touch of super glue to keep it from sliding around when doing big bends. Definitely buy yourself a feeler gauge set as well if you don't have one to measure the nut action at the first fret. Used a .020 for the low E A D. .018 for high E B G.Also set the nut action with every string change. The screws tend to move when changing strings.Overall it's a decent product and much easier than using nut files to do the job. In the end it was an improvement on tone and feel.

Well made and works as it is designed to but it caused a buzz on open strings .Made the guitar sound like a sitar.I would like to know if other users had this problem and if so, how they cured it.

For my new PRS with a poorly cut nut. Good replacement. Will buy this item again but will pass on PRS products.

This has great potential. Much better and easier to install than most nuts, but it has a major drawback and there are two things if improved, this would be a stellar productFirst - Your really don't have full use of the ability to loosen in case you need to raise the nut so it's above your first fret in case you have jumbo frets. What happens is that the closer to the top of the screw is to the top, the less stable and wabbly it becomes. To solve this, if there's a tube like metal encasing around the screw so you can use the full thread, the nut will be stable.Second. somewhat related to the first point because the screw is very smooth when screwed in both directions, tightening or loosening, the screw can easily fly off before you put the string on, It's very hard to get a quarter turn or even half turn, this is one area where the screw doesn't need to be smooth and needs to have more of tight sticky feel so it can be adjusted accurately. IF you don't have the strings on and you tap on the nut the screw is so smooth that it rotates from where you left off to the slightest touch.Over all it's a great idea and in some situations for certain guitar it might be absolute perfection if you're lucky that the desired action happens where the top of the screw is halfway through the dial or closer tighter, but the looser you have to make the screw to adjust the action the less stable it become.Overall it offers more fallibility than a traditional nut.Regarding the tone, it resonate very nicely and it has more overtones with a richer sound, it's also louder so whether that's good or bad is also a personal preference.

Installed easily and works well.Edges are way too sharp , though.Strong handed players like me may easily hurt their fingers on it.No choice to smooth the edges with a needle file.

Already installed in two guitars and works fantastic. I put a little oil so where the strings sit and keep in tune. Very satisfied with this product. I like low action strings, and this is one important part to consider.

I'm pretty happy with this nut on a Gibson SG. The original nut had bad action, and instead of paying a luthier, or buying expensive nut files, I used this as a replacement. I needed to shim it up a bit to make sure the screws were not at the top of their range where they can be wobbly, and polished the grooves with 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper. My action is perfect, and the tone is quite nice. The only issue using it on a Gibson head stock is that the strings are not straight, and since the screws move under tension, the string spacing is affected (D and G get closer). I solved this problem by installing a "string butler" to line the strings up straight and now it's awesome. This is also an improvement over the diagonals nut slots that come on Gibsons and can cause difficult tuning issues. See picture of both above.

Great idea... horrible tuning issues. I'm always having to adjust the screws everytime I play which means loosen tension, adjust the screw ,tune back up.... has become very frustrating, going back to a regular bone nut. I might use this on a cheaper guitar and use lock tite on the threads.
