So easy to install, prevents unwanted use. Seems pricey, but worth it.

The lock arrived quickly and installed easily. The piano it is used to protect is in a public area, and now I have peace of mind knowing that I will find the piano in good order when I return to it at work.

Initially I cut my grandchildren some slack when they banged on my piano, hoping one would exhibit some interest or talent for playing. Alas, that has not happened. This piano lock was easy to install and it works. No more banging on my piano.

This is a good product, keeps my little grandsons' fingers safe. I can take it off when I am ready to supervise their "playing" piano but otherwise it is securely shut. There is a little bit of give so I am going to get a piece of felt to wedge under it to get rid of wiggle room.

My wife and I purchased this fallboard lock for our recently acquired 1978 Hobart M. Cable (Story & Clark) 40" Console in very good playing and cosmetic condition. We got it mostly to keep our 2 year old from banging, putting his sippy cup, and playing with his toys on the keys. So far, he hasn't picked the lock, but I'm sure that will come in time (teenage years - Haha!)This lock was a breeze to install and very simple to use as it slides easily in & out of the base. Also, having the keyhole on the front of the lock is a huge plus. Other locks I've seen use a padlock which is not only an eyesore, but also is not easily accessible.I highly recommend the Hands-Off® Fallboard Lock to anyone or institution, church, school, etc... who is looking to keep folks (non-pianists) from easily playing (banging) on their piano(s).It might not withstand a thermo-nuclear war, but all in all I think my kid will have an extremely hard time getting into the piano without a crowbar or assistance from Mommy & Daddy. That is, if he doesn't find the key first... :-o

Our church has a baby-grand in our auditorium - a public space. We got tired of it being banged on (not played on) by any passer by. It was getting ruined. I purchased 2 -- 1 for each end of the keyboard. It works GREAT! They are made of a tough plastic and yes, if anyone really, really, wanted to play they could potentially use a hack saw but in that case nothing would have stopped them. These work great.
