Really pretty.. really wanted to love it.. I guess I should have listened to everyone else saying the Lyre keeps going out of tune. Yea, it happened to me. Pegs were just a bit too small for the holes that I guess are pretty drilled? Idk.. I haven't had it long but have to keep adjusting the tune EVERY time and even multiple times DURING tuning I have to go back and returned ones I just tuned.

It looks just like the pictures which tbh is why I bought it. It looks great on the wall.Tuning it needed me to replace a few strings. They didn't break, just pulled off of the pegs when close to being in tune. The included replacements are fine. I used an electronic tuner, the correct notes are printed at each tuning peg.The sound won't win awards but that's not expected with metal strings and a small sound chamber. It sounds like a $70 instrument should but a little like one of those string door chimes.

I was hesitant to purchase since lots of reviewers complained about the strings staying in-tune. I experience that frustration with a smaller lap harp I previously bought.Happy to report i did NOT have tuning peg issues with this moon harp. I followed the best practice to tune frequently for the first few weeks (multiple times a day), and play the freshly tuned strings. After 3 weeks or so, the harp stayed in-tune for longer periods.I love this harp! It comes with a song book with Asian folk and contemporary tunes, which thankfully I recognize 😁 Easy to learn a few simple tunes.I recommend to buy tuner or download a tuning app, which doesn't come with this pkg.

I realized that this is an inexpensive instrument so I didn't have high hopes for how amazing it would sound, and as an instrument it won't even stay in tune. Some of the tuning pegs keep moving back when I tune they slip. I must say it was sold as an art piece as well that looks great however it was shown as standing up on side board. Well mine certainly will not stand up, so a big bummer I can't use it for what I bought it for unless i sand myself, and I can't play because it won't stay tuned. Honestly they should make a higher standard and charge more because this is useless. I should be asking for my money back. Very disappointed!

I have problems with slippage on most strings, even after waiting several weeks for the strings to adjust. It’s normal to have some tuning issues at first, so I’ve given it time regularly retuning it. But certain strings are just awful. I tune them and as soon as I take the tuning wrench off of the peg and pluck again it’s already out of tune, sometimes up to almost a half step. I can actually see the tuning peg slipping in some cases. It’s a gorgeous lyre, and makes a beautiful decoration, but since they’ve advertised it as a musical instrument I have to rate it as one. I’m keeping it because I think it’s absolutely beautiful, and because I think I can learn a lot by trying to fix it. But I can’t recommend anyone who wants a musical instrument to buy this. Not unless they have the technical skills to repair it.

I wasn’t super sure what to expect when I ordered this. I was mainly looking for something unique and with more strings than my 7 string Brandon John Lyre. It arrived quicker than the estimated delivery date, so that was a plus!It was packaged very well! The lyre was wrapped in some padded light styrofoam. I was worried about how it would arrive since it was from overseas but it arrived safely. It came with a cleaning cloth, extra strings, a tuning wrench and some picks and a handy bag to carry it in.It seems to be of quality build and I don’t expect it to stay in tune for quite some time until the strings settle in. It caught my eye because it was different from a lot of the lyres on Amazon. You can hear what the strings sound like in my video. There didn’t seem to be any buzzing and the strings resonate beautifully. My only disappointment was that it didn’t come with the heart cutout, like what was shown in the picture.I’m gonna have to give it more time until everything settles and then I’ll update my review. In the meantime if you want a more in depth review and first impressions video, feel free to search for Joygood Lyre on YouTube.
