The Hercules DJControl Inpulse 500 is a plug-and-play, USB DJ controller that connects in seconds and allows you to mix and scratch with ease using the included DJUCED and Serato DJ Lite software. It offers two-channel mixing with 5.5" high-precision touch-reactive platters, each with a beatmatch light guide for easy manual mixing. The two sets of eight performance pads per channel offer vinyl functions and loop-in / loop-out capabilities, as well as the default color of each cue point in Serato DJ Lite, providing a natural and intuitive control of the cue points and sampler. The Filter/FX area helps create smoother original transitions for professional sounding blends. The built-in Velvet Edge sound card delivers high-quality audio. The controller offers master outputs via dual 1/4" and dual RCA, as well as 1/4" and 3.5mm headphone outputs. Built-in stereo TRS 3.5mm and dual RCA aux inputs feature dedicated volume and filter control knobs for routing external signals through the Inpulse 500 controller. Also included, a balanced 1/4" microphone input with a dedicated volume control and High/Low EQ controls, which remain operational even when disconnected to the computer.The enclosure features a sturdy metal backing plate on the mixer and includes retractable/extendable feet to lift the controller and keep it safe from spilled drinks. The DJControl Inpulse ships with a braided USB cable.
Hercules HDP DJ45 are a pair of over-ear closed-back headphones designed for DJs. Their 50mm drivers deliver a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The headphones operate at an impedance of 60 ohms, so they will work with most audio sources. Plus a 6' Comprehensive Standard Series 3.5mm Stereo Mini Plug To 2 RCA Plugs Audio Cable features nickel connectors and an oxygen-free copper conductor.

It this an amazing machine however it was too advance for the person I was purchasing for and I'd rather send it back than have it messed over. But I will definitely look to buy another one that is more beginner friendly.

First, impressed with the build quality.Second, I like the size of the unit. It isn't the biggest, but it feels much more substantial than other beginner decks/mixers.Third, lots of features for a beginner unit. Feels good and very intuitive to use.Forth, Great features integrated into the unit in combination with the DJuced software by Hercules, but if you plan to use Serato, you will want to upgrade to the Pro version for sure.Great all around unit and fun to use with the extra features of colored pads, fold out feet, and under carriage lighting. No regrets going with this one over the DDJ-400. I feel like this one can take me down the road quite a ways.

I purchased this kit because I wanted to purchase a Hercules Inpulse 500 controller, and this kit includes headphones and an RCA-to-3.5mm cable for only a dollar more than the controller alone. This is really a no-brainer.The Polsen headphones are just okay. They fit my smaller head really well and are quite comfortable. The cable is very long (10ft I believe), but is a bit thin and flimsy, and I'm not sure how well it'll hold up, but these are fine for beginners or as a secondary pair of headphones for travel or to have as a backup. The highs and mids are fine, but lows/bass are definitely lacking.The RCA to 3.5mm adapter cable seems to be of great quality. The connectors are thick and sturdy, and the cable itself is also quite thick and firm feeling. I have no doubt that this cable will last me a long time. I use this to hook up a small speaker to my controller when playing at home or at a friend's house.The Hercules controller itself is great! This unit is pretty big compared to the Pioneer DDJ-200 that I started out on, and feels much more like a quality piece of professional equipment, and not a plasticky toy like the DDJ-200 did. The knobs and sliders are metal and have a great resistance to them, the pads are rubberized and have a nice clicky feel to them, and the jog wheels are super smooth and sturdy, with just the right amount of resistance. There are plenty of choices for inputs and outputs, and I love that there are dedicated controls for a microphone and AUX. I/O selection and overall build quality are the main reasons why I chose this over the very popular DDJ-400.I'm using this controller with Serato DJ Pro (only works in 2.3.6 or newer), but it includes a full license for DJUCED and also works with Serato DJ Lite out of the box. Both Windows and Serato picked up the controller right away without any issues, although you can download drivers from the Hercules website if you run into any issues.In conclusion, I'm really happy with this controller and the kit as a whole. I think this controller should offer me more than enough functionality to keep me going for years without needing to upgrade.
