The square bottom makes them easier to hold onto than round glasses are. Also, they hold 16 ounces of water, which is a good thing for those of us in the majority who don’t drink enough water in the first place.

You can put in a full can of pop with space left over for the ice. The fact that they are square makes them easier to wash in the dishwasher.

I like how these hold a lot of liquid without being super heavy because of how thin they are. I don't like thick glasses because I've accidentally bumped my teeth with them and felt like my teeth were going to be knocked out. I've never had that issue with these.Nothing beats a big tall glass of water on your bedside table so you're unlikely to run out and have to get up in the middle if the night to refill it.They don't seem to have issues with being scratched or discoloring over repeated dishwasher cycles and regular use.Unfortunately they are more fragile than the average glass because of how thin and tall they are, I have had 1 shatter in the dishwasher because it was too close to heavy dishes, but to me it's worth breaking a glass or 2 a year to have such nice looking glasses.

My previous ones I ordered a couple years back, 3 already shattered. They were nice looking but very thin. One broke while hand washing with hot water, and 2 cracked in the dish washer while moving the rack! I decided to replace them since I love the style.Although the description says their black, they look clear translucent to me, which is what I wanted anyway. These look similar but are made of slightly thicker glass and the bottom is wider. There's also a mark on the bottom like 2 tear drops. They were shipped in a very thick and nicely insulated box. As other reviews mentioned, the bottoms inside the glasd aren't flat but I don't mind that. I love this style of glass and I'm confident these won't break as easily.

I'd purchased the old fashioned (shorter) glass in this style and I was so happy to have found this style in the high ball, by the same brand too! Very happy with my matching set! They fit well in the hand and the simple, elegant design is durable without feeling too bulky or bottom-heavy. Would 100% buy again, to replace broken glasses, although hopefully I won't have to!

I bought 2 sets of these glasses a little over a year ago, and we still love them! I had searched everywhere for the best deal on square bottom glasses, and these are it. They're nicely weighted at the bottom and they've proven their durability over the past year. I'm confident that we'll get many years out of these glasses. I haven't noticed any seams or asymmetry in my sets as others have reported, and the glass doesn't feel cheap and flimsy like a lot of inexpensive glassware can. They've held up to the stacks of dishes in the sink that are common in our household, and they've gone through every kind of wash cycle in our dish washer. In my opinion, these glasses have outperformed their price tag!
