It does what it should, for letting me know the levels in my hot tub. They are slightly different than the ones I was using, but still perfect for my needs. I actually prefer just knowing the levels to make it easier to know how much of each chemical to put in. I am going to verify with another brand of test strips to ensure they are fairly accurate. My first try with them showed too much bromine/chlorine in my hot tub, but I had tested it the day prior with my old strips and it showed right on where it should be. The others were the same as the day before as well.

I have been using similar test strips to help keep my pool chemistry balanced, but I'm running low so decided to try this RIVANO brand. This brand is less expensive even though the bottle includes 150 strips versus 100 of the previous brand. I tested the accuracy of the previous brand with an expensive titration kit, so I was able to use the previous brand to test the accuracy of these strips, and they are very comparable.These strips measure seven chemical variables of pool water: Total Hardness, Free Chlorine, Bromine, Total Chlorine, Cyanuric Acid, Total Alkalinity, and pH. The strips are quick and easy to use; dip a strip in the water for one second, then hold the water saturated strip horizontally for 15 seconds so that water doesn't drip off, then compare the colors of the test strip to those on the bottle. Easy peasy. Just be sure to handle each strip with dry hands when removing them from the bottle. Don't touch the testing part of the strips. Close the bottle as soon as a strip has been selected. Store in a cool dry place.The bottle arrives with a foil seal to retain freshness, and includes a silica gel desiccant pack inside to adsorb moisture. The unopened bottle of strips are rated to last three years from manufacture, with both the manufacture date and expiration date listed on the bottom of the product box. The box suggests using these within 150 days (five months) after opening for best accuracy.

While I'm sure there are more detailed and elaborate tests you can choose from, this test strip has the basics that I needed for evaluating my home water softener and pool water quality. For the water softener, I wanted to know if I'm in the right range for the devices settings and this strip was able to allow me to tune the setting back a bit. For the pool, I was concerned about chlorine levels and these strips indicated that they are correct. I found the strips easy to use by simply dipping them in water for one second and waiting fifteen seconds before matching the colors on the bottle. The amount of strips in the bottle is ample, so I plan to use these often. Great and simple product overall for Hardness, PH and Chlorine.
