Great stuff for making Koji but the container is plastic and smell doesn’t go away after I made garlic Koji.

Perfect temperature control (37C), especially for Dr. Davis' recipe for L reuteri yogurt.

You can make 250 grams in one shot. I don't use the plastic canister. I use plastic wrap shut and baking sheet.

I highly recommend the Ohyama yogurt maker, especially if you're looking to make Dr. William Davis's L. Reuteri yogurt. For U.S. buyers, I suggest using a 120V to 100V step-down transformer to ensure compatibility. This yogurt maker is compact, lightweight, and easy to set up and use immediately. To make L. Reuteri yogurt, simply set the temperature to 38°C and let it run for 36 hours—no need for constant monitoring. Cleanup is a breeze, with no mess or fuss, making it far more convenient than using a sous vide or other bulkier, messier devices. Overall, this yogurt maker is an excellent choice for anyone wanting an easy and efficient way to make yogurt at home.

I initially liked the design and loved making my own experimental yogurt. Since I have some health issues, I am delving into fermented foods. When I tried making a reuteri "yogurt," I failed, so I got a thermometer, and the temperature was fluctuating drastically when I set it to 37 C. Yesterday, I tried making amazake on this one because my Tanica was occupied, and the temperature reached 70°C potentially deactivating the enzymes. Well, you need to be aware that (of course, I am using a Japanese-made step-down converter to 100V).

I purchased this yogurt maker to make Natto (Japanese fermented soybeans).I was able to make Natto starting with 0.5 lb of dry soybeans so far.Probably it would be hard for this machine to make Natto more than that.If you like to make large scale, you would need to look for other yogurt makers.Since this product is designed for voltage used in Japan (100 V),I use a step-down transformer (120 V => 100 V) just in case.

I needed a setting of 36 hours. This yogurt maker can only be set for 9 hours. It seems well made and easy to use, but this is the primary feature I was looking for . It has been misrepresented by Amazon.
