Works as it should, but only received ten combo m5 bolts/nuts instead of twelve as instructed in the manual. Had to go to Home Depot to make a modification. Check your hardware before you commit to install.

Look for a better option. I ened up having to drill the hole a bit larger to get the rack holes to line up. I was using an APC rack so it should be standard, The shelf should have better quality to match the holes on a popular brand rack.I would not recommend this shelf as it is not worth the headache of drilling and hopeing the holes are then not too large to fit the screws. The metal is very thing and I do not have much confidence in this holding much weight. maybe 10-15lbs max. not enough even for the smallest server. tower. There are much better options out there for less money.I would return it but I already drilled the holes.

2 HP DL 380's, 2 DL 360's, Cisco FW & network SW, I know it isn't ideal however it is all I can do at the moment with a 2-Post Rack. It is working, does it tidder totter, yes it can if you do not Bolt mount the 2-Post if you are allowed to do that I would recommend mounting the 4 Bolts from the 2-Post and it won't rock back and forth and keep things more stable. est. about 200lbs (More detailed Review...)

This is a great rack shelf depending on what you will be using it for.I’ll be using it to store small stuff like routers and a couple of small switches in my rack configurations so I have no doubt this shelf will be able to hold the weight. It seems sturdy and the cantilevered shelf will help keep your equipment cool vs the solid shelf. The shelf can be used as single setup or mid center configuration by bolting the 2 shelves together. It does what it’s intended for and the price point of $40-$45 is reasonable. Before putting an heavy AV equipment do a weight test just to be sure otherwise it’s a good shelf.

I picked this on a whim and it was a great idea. I needed a simple way to put a shelf in our telco rack. We need to be be able to place a crash kit (monitor/kb/mouse) for when we needed to access our switches. This definitely filled the bill. The kit comes with all the screws and a small flat wrench that will allow you to connect the included screws. It also includes some caged nuts for mounting in regular square hole racks. If desired you could also split the shelf into 2 pieces (I didn't mention that it was 2 parts) and use it as smaller / shorter shelves.

I built a low-profile rack-mount system to house an old-school computer, and an 8-camera video security system, with a fan cooler on top, with a total height of 10 inches, that fits under my 65" TV, next to my other two computers in my living room. I used the shelf kit as a mount for the power supply, and relocation of my full-size video card. The other half was used as a rear cover, behind the thermostatically-controlled fan enclosure. The only thing I didn't like; was the fact that of the four bracket/gussets in the kit; two didn't have the factory oval cutouts. I didn't notice it until I'd cut-away a few inches of the two brackets i is used for the shelf, and had to cut a hole in one, to allow the cord for the power supply, to connect. It's not as pretty as it could've turned out, and I can't see why it was designed that way.

I have lots of racks but it's hard to use every last "U." Partly that's because I don't have enough shelves. This shelf pair addresses almost all of the items that I might place on the shelves (not some really big legacy synthesizers). It's not the stiffest metal around, but doesn't need to be for the music / computer gear that I'm placing on them. The metal is bent and painted properly and the holes I needed to use were lined up. (Misaligned holes are not uncommon for rack hardware, for some reason.)PRO-Comes with screws and nuts.CONCLUSIONRecommended, but be sure it works for the type of rack you have and the depth in question. I have a couple items that are deeper.
