The item was as advertised. I had bought to see if it would help with bright sun in eyes when using Camera.It helped somewhat but did not eliminate the sun effects.

works really great for people with glasses. Originally I thought it is not needed, but it really helped me. The disadvantage is that if you are outdoors and there is some chance of the thing to get dirty or moist, you smudge up your glasses. So take an additional microfiber cloth with you to clean them it that happens.Someone said they break easily. I have used them several times a week for some months now and have no issues so far. You need to be careful how to place the camera in the bag as naturally, this sticks out a bit more than the original one. Unfortunately, I find the price expensive, but in the end, I found it worthwhile

Take your time with the removal of OEM eyepiece and installation of this one. The screws are very tiny so use a magnifying glass and good lighting. Should not have any problems. For anyone who complains that it does not block light as well in the vertical position, well duh! The eyepiece is obvious best suited for a landscape/ horizontal use. Just to see how it did work, I took several shots in the vertical position. All I can say is that it is still way better than the original equipment eyepiece, even when turned 90 degrees to one side or the other. Highly recommended!

I am giving this product 5 stars because it is accurately described, appears to be at least as well made as the Canon original, and is fairly priced.I can confirm, however, from direct experience, that it does not fit the R5 Mark II, which has a slightly larger viewfinder window than the R5 Mark I.This is not a slap at JJC. Their ad copy is accurate, though it would be nice if it stated explicitly that it only fits the the first gen R5. I just made an erroneous assumption that if it fits both generations of the R6 it should also fit both generations of the R5. Not so.Hopefully JJC will be able to fabricate an R5 Mark II compatible version soon.

The default eyepiece for the Canon R5 is too short, which makes it difficult to see the viewer in bright light, even with a wide-brimmed hat. This longer eyepiece is a significant improvement: It is 1 cm longer, and it's soft, so that you can make it occlusive. It was easy to install, and the extra screws and the included small phillips screwdriver are a nice addition. The quality seems good, the price is fair, and it was shipped promptly. THANKS!

I purchased this replacement for my Canon R7 eyepiece in April of 2024. It works reasonably well. But after 9 months I noticed that the plastic plate holding the eyepiece "gasket" had come loose and the gasket slipped out of the eyepiece on one end. I also noticed that the other side of the gasket had ripped from use. I suppose it is no worse than the original, which lasted about a year, but this one may end up lasting about as long as the original.

After install, it looks like a factory item. Fit is good, however a bit loose no mater what I did to correct it. It has a little movement and doesn't seem to tighten up. It does not affect it's function however and makes it far more favorable over the factory one. Your eye can now be cupped properly and the light is blocked out giving far more detail.

I would give this product 6 stars if I could. If you have a Canon EOS R series camera, this is an essential item. I previously had an EOS 1d series camera and had an extended eyecup piece to help in the bright sunlight. Unfortunately, it didn't help viewing the photos on the screen. When I got my EOS R6, my very first concern was the viewfinder, and the possible issues bright sunlight could cause. As everybody who uses a phone for photos knows, the screen must be at maximum brightness in direct sun. This item is essential for not only taking the photos using the electronic viewfinder in bright sun, but also for viewing the photos as the viewfinder can be used for playback. This eyecup is high quality and looks OEM. Came with the screwdriver needed to remove the OEM eyecup, and extra screws as well. Super happy with this, and I believe is an essential piece of gear for any mirrorless camera when used in bright conditions. If Canon made this, it would be $50. This is an amazing piece of quality gear at an amazing price.

Great replacement for my Canon dslr original eyepiece. It's way better than the original and I don't smudge my nose on the lcd thanks to this longer viewfinder eyepiece. Highly recommended.
