This case is the worst case for anything I've ever had ever in my life ever. That being said, the ukulele itself sounds great - but this god forsaken case is so sad. It's just small enough that if you struggle, you can fit it in, but because it's not hard (like the regular case I got when ordering a small uku from the same company) so it's absolutely a nuisance to get in. I feel like I'm playing with a rubix cube, I also just don't feel like it really protects the neck because it has no form to it, sad to see they didn't throw the bones in for an actual good case, I wouldn't mind if it was 10 or 20 dollars more just so I could have a good case.

I bought this for my son and he uses it all the time. The sound quality is really good. It came with a case and tuner, so added bonus. Uke’s can run very expensive and super cheap, this one is good quality for the price. Kala delivers a good brand, nice coloring, with good string quality.

I have seen some pretty lengthy reviews on ukulele's & as your average purchaser, I have found them helpful-- but will try to keep this a short summary!!! I have a 13-year-old daughter who wants to play the guitar and ukulele. The ukulele is a little easier to manage, so when I went in search of a QUALITY, but reasonably priced instrument-- this one fit the bill! Here's why MY research has shown this to be a great ukulele for the price:- it is a CONCERT size-- be mindful of the size. I believe there are 5 different ukulele sizes. This one is not too small or too big.- it has a Mahogany Neck & Body- it has 18 Silver Nickel Frets- it has Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge- it has it comes stringed with Aquila Nylgut strings (which I don't know much about other than everywhere you read on the Internet, they are the best!)- it comes with a digital tuner which is especially important when you are just a beginner and it is EASY to use! Check on You Tube how to tune with a digital tuner-- it will take you just minutes. So there you go. It also has a pretty study carrying case which I found can run around $20 by itself. And it has a DVD to help you learn a few chords, etc.All in all, a really beautiful ukulele bundle for $115!

Beautiful little uke, sounds great! The aquila strings are wonderful, and they can take a lot more stretching from tuning than I expected. I had to get my brother in law to tune it for me, because I wasn't brave enough to crank the pegs quite that much on a new instrument!Future buyers, be aware that the case this comes with is a zippered nylon sleeve. It will keep the instrument clean and makes it easer to carry, but it is not a protective hard case. Once I'm confident enough on the uke to take it places and play with others, I'll be investing in a hard case. The tuner took a little getting used to. We actually did the initial tuning using a different tuner, which I bought for the fiddle a while back. Once we got it tuned, the tuner this came with agreed, but at first it was reading "C" for all 4 strings for a very long time. I was beginning to wonder if there was a hidden 2nd button to select which string I was tuning for, in addition to the type of instrument.

Perfect, perfect, perfect. I wanted to transtion from acoustic guitar, which I've played for 11 years, to something smaller and more portable for when I don't feel like lugging out my guitar case in my tiny apartment, something I can just pick up and strum for a bit while relaxing on the couch. This is my first uke and I wanted to spend a little more than people traditionally do on the first go-round so it would be high quality and a uke that lasts. After reading reviews from seasoned players on uke boards, I went with this Kala concert uke. I am a tall, bigger person, so I wanted something bigger than the traditional soprano uke. This is perfect on my frame, I don't look all Chris Farley "fat guy in a little coat" holding this up on my body. It has a fuller sound, which I also love. The strings are Aquila, so no need to replace upon receipt. The body is smooth and satiny, everything is perfectly balanced. You really won't get a better deal with the tuner, which works perfectly and is super easy to use, and the hard-side case. Other uke bundles come with a crappy gig bag, but this case is NICE. It's velvet inside with a cubby for the tuner, cloth, a capo (definitely pick up a uke capo when you get this!), etc, along with an outside zip pocket and two back straps. Awesome bundle all around, don't hesitate!

Sounds way better then I thought it would, lots of packaging so no chance of it breaking during shipment. The gig bag looks alright.

This is a lovely little ukulele. Well made, simple but with nice detailing; it has good tuners so it tunes easily and stays in tune (once the strings are settled in) and it sounds great. I bought it for my grandson's 6th birthday, he plays it every day, and so do his younger brother and both of his parents. They've just ordered another one just like it, but with a hard case, because the 6-year-old takes it to school 2-3 days a week. Highly recommend, as it's inexpensive so good for a child but also great for a grownup starting out on the uke but wanting a good playing instrument.
