This was a disappointing purchase. It functions well as long as the chain stays put….it somehow disconnects frequently. This is very annoying and it’s awkward to reconnect. Have tried a few different ways to set this up to not fail but it consistently disconnects. I would NOT recommend this product:

My toilet would not shut off completely after a flush. Just kept a trickle running. I thought it might be the flapper seal, so I replaced the flapper base and also the float valve. This kit had all the necessary parts and was easy to install. I had to remove the tank-no big deal, just 2 bolts - and replace the base and gasket seal. It took a while to tighten the nuts and get the tank level, but no leaks there. Installing the float valve was easy, but adjusting the water level took a little time and a few flushes. Works great now and shuts off completely now !

The kit had everything needed. The end result was fine. However, I found it challenging to get the tank off and then back on balanced and water tight.

I like the Korky complete toilet plumbing kit because it is relatively quiet and works well. But, as others have already pointed out, if you have, say, 50+ year old American Standard toilets like I do, the provided tank-to-bowl washer is far too thick, and the tank will wobble while riding on this overly thick washer. And the existing washer is probably in not so good shape after all these years. I did not subtract a star for this, as Korky cannot reasonable provide a washer for all possible toilets, and they clearly state that their kit fits the majority of toilets (so not all), and mine is over half a century old. When I put a Korky plumbing set into my main bathroom toilet, I simply tightened the screws real tight and lived for many years with the wobble. But when recently my handyman was replacing the plumbing in the guest bathroom with Korky, mutiny threatened. So I tried to find a washer of the right thickness online, based on the tank number found in my tank (which happened to be [5]4049). That was not that easy, but eventually my handyman found a place called Grigg Industries, and I found a correct toilet to tank kit there, (47060-0700 to be precise, but that probably does not apply to your toilet as they have zillions). It did add about $17 to the price of the parts, so not cheap, but at least the tank no longer wobbles. So I got another one for my main bathroom. You might be able to find a cheaper washer elsewhere, but I would certainly not know where.

Not sure exactly how to rate this product, because at some point you are evaluating the installer not the product. I knew I would be in for a challenge because the toilet base is >50 year old American Standard with a 30 year old off brand replacement tank. Here is a list of things that will make you challenge easier:*If you are doing this rebuild alone, the 3 inch tank bolts are just barely long enough as the tank to bowl washer is larger than whatever it is replacing. Help keeping the tank in place as you fasten the nuts or a longer tank bolt (I used 3 1/8) will help. Review the You-Tubes.*The adjustable flapper has 12 settings, spend the time determining which setting works best unless you are lucky enough to have a toilet whose settings are listed in the packaging.*Get some silicon spray to lubricate the flapper band as moving it from closed to open was a challenge out of the package.*Even with the right flapper setting, a tank lever that doesn’t lift the flapper high enough (with the lid on) will have you chasing your tail. Your old lever will work, but likely not well as your toilet is old enough you are rebulding it and whatever it was lifting up and even the chain was different. I tried 3 different levers until I finally bought the Korky Strongarm tank lever which allowed for the arm adjustments needed. Spend the money on this.*My toilet works and I bought another of this product for the other toilet when it fails.

The tank to toilet gasket does NOT seat fully. Tank wobbles alot. Original gasket was only about 1/2 inch thick and extended to go around the mounting bolts. Now I have to find that gasket.Would not recommend to anyone this kit! Have to re-install.
