I really like these. Imagination is the only thing you honestly own. So many things you can do with a Rack and drawers.... Make it happen !

TL;DR: Recommend for light capacity, low stress installs. Not suitable for heavy contents or situations where it is going to be bounced and stressed.Good: Value, appearance.Bad: Loose construction tolerances, light gauge metal, doesn't close if not perfectly installed.I have these installed in a static (not mobile) computer rack for cabling storage. I am happy with them. As others have noted, these are not heavy-duty drawers and the slop inherent in racks and rack devices results in the drawers rubbing on the devices below if they are not installed with great care. This makes them especially difficult to make work when you stack them. The drawer sleeve is basically and upside down shelf and not a full sleeve, which contributes to the problem but allows for a full-depth drawer.

Got the drawer and once I opened it you could tell it was cheap quality. The front drawer was warped and was very flimsy. The metal it's made from is the same stuff you find on filing cabinets. The lock was also horrible, had abou a 1/4 of play snd rattled really bad. It's not something to be used on a road rack as it will pop open if it's handled too rough. If you need something cheap for a home studio it might work ok but not for heavy use. I returned it and went for the more expensive units.

The build quality is flimsy. If you use it on the road I'm not sure how long will it last. I use it as an extra draw in my Home Studio. The metal is thin and now I understand why the price difference between the $150.00 3-space Rack Draws and this one. The metal is so thin you can see the spot welds on the front of the draw. The Main Issue:The sizing of the actual Draw where the top and the bottom flanges meet the next rack unit either above or below it. You can see in Pic #1 - I wanted to remove the "Super Chorus" and mount the 3-space Draw below the Focusrite18i20 and the spacer plate with the numbers 5-6 on it. Now this is a standard rack that I have and have never had any issues mounting 19" rack units. The issue I encountered with the Draw was the flanges above and below the mounting holes lining up because1. The holes are slightly oversized (which actually helped allow wiggle room, explanation below)2. The flanges above the top hole and the flange below the bottom hole are slightly larger than the standard 3-space rack allows for.So simply put, the 3-space Draw did not fit my 3-space Rack opening, under the Focusrite 18i20. So my only choice was to place it at the bottom of the Rack where there would be nothing under it. Even at the bottom of the Rack, the Grill Vent had to be wedged into the 1" Rack space above the Draw because the flanges were so tight (See Full Rack Pic). You can see in the Pics how tight the fit is between the Vent and the Draw on the left & right top corners where the screws go in. Because the holes were oversized, it had a little wiggle room allowing it to drop slightly and fit, otherwise, the flanges would have overlapped. If it wasn't for the wiggle room, I would have had the same issue as trying to mount it below the Focusrite. Also, the bottom set of holes are not lined up 100% with the rack holes since it's oversized (Sorry no Pic).Final Thought's:The manufacturer does not use very accurate measurements in the production process and the unit is flimsy. The front Draw plate does not close all of the way as well, there is about an 1/8th " gap even when the Draw is locked. The lock is very lightweight as well. The track sliders so far, seem pretty good, but time will tell. If you can deal with these issues. then for the price, it may be worth it for you for a "Home Studio". But it's definitely not a roadworthy unit. If you're a gigging musician on the road 3-4 nights a week, I would give it 6-8 months before something malfunctions.ThxElectricEddie

I bought two of these drawers for my home studio. One had to be returned because one of the drawer glides came apart and there were loose ball bearings in the box. It was replaced after several days. Now comes the fit. These fit fine width-wise in a standard 19 inch rack enclosure. However, vertically they are too big by 3/32 inch, which means they can’t fit in a rack on top of or directly under any other rack gear. In fact when they are nested one on top of the other, the top drawer won’t close because it hits the lower. The only way I made it work was to remove one piece of gear and create a half rack space between these as shown in the picture. Really funky and I don’t recommend these.Last but not least, one was gloss black and the other flat black. Another nice touch.Wish I just spent a little more to get a better product.

Definitely not the sturdiest nor does it have a great finish (basically it lost one star for each) but it was considerably less expensive than the other I found at the time and does the job I need (which justified the three remaining stars). The key latch does not really work great either but that was not a criteria for my current need. I would definitely not recommend this for a road case, a high use situation or where security of the contents are a real concern, but if the painted finish and lightweight build quality are not an issue for you, this may be a good deal. That said, I would definitely advocate checking prices to make sure that this is better priced compared to other units and if it is, it may be a great deal for your situation. It is more than large enough to hold the microphones and batteries I bought for and might even consider a second one for odds and ends just to keep the first one clean as I have filled it up fast with items I did not originally plan to keep in it.
