The main issue is the external threading bar does not have any support under the tooth that is cutting threads so as soon as it touches anything it just snaps the tip of the insert right off. It's not an external threading holder it's just a holder for triangular bits. Different holder.

The tool works well, but small cuts (five thou or less) are needed to avoid chipping the carbide insert tip.

Use these to cut threads in barrels, usually a 4140 steel, and they work well.

Bought these as a test to see if they were at least the quality level of the Accusize cutting tools since they were less expensive, and looked identical in every way. In fact you could have thought they came off the same assembly line and packaged with two different labels. WELL, I can say with every bit of confidence, while the Accusize are, for a low cost cutting tool, good.... these Zouzmin cutting tools are not even worth their price. I use these 60 degree cutting tools to thread barrels. I have used the Zouzmin cutting tools on the last two barrels and it took two cutting tools each (using all 6 blades on the first and 5 on the second). They chip easily under the same pressures that Accusize would easily withstand. Lesson learned. Hope you are wise enough to heed these words.
