The grater has a simple, functional design. It's made of stainless steel, which feels sturdy and durable. It's lightweight but doesn't feel flimsy. The handle is comfortable to hold and provides a good grip.The zester part of the grater works exceptionally well. It effortlessly removes thin strips of zest from lemons, limes, and oranges. The zest comes off easily without digging into the pith. I've been very pleased with its zesting performance.The grating side of the tool is also effective, though it has some limitations. It works well for hard cheeses like Parmesan, grating them into fine, fluffy shreds. It also works well for grating ginger and garlic into a fine paste. However, for softer cheeses or vegetables like carrots, it tends to create more of a mushy or pulpy texture rather than distinct shreds. It's not ideal for grating large quantities of these softer items.Cleaning the grater is relatively easy. I usually hand wash it with warm soapy water and a brush to remove any food particles trapped in the grating teeth. It's also dishwasher safe, though I prefer hand washing to prolong its sharpness.

I purchased this for my niece. The one she had did not have a handle so this looked like a solution for holding the zester while in use.

So you don't want to dig out the box grater or the big processor. these work fine for small tasks, sharp, great for zesting or reggiano.

This replaced an old zester--guess they only last so long. This zester works okay, although it doesn't zest quite as finely as our old zester. The grip is comfortable. (Our last grater just was the metal piece, and was a bit uncomfortable to hold and use.) The cover is find and the brush is a very nice accessory for getting your ingredients off the grater and into your preparations.
