I don't disagree with the product's description. It works as advertised with a bee veil.I was disappointed that it wasn't made with sturdier materials. I don't use it often, so I haven't had any durability issues. If used often, I would wonder how long the webbing inside would hold up and the shell is half the weight of a similar 20 year old helmet.I believe that I would look for a sturdier helmet if I were shopping again.

This helmet is great. It's comfortable, easy to adjust and has hooks to secure your veil to. Really worth the money.

It fits under the round veil and works well at keeping the veil away from your face which lessens the possibility of getting stung. The hat is nicely made but a little tight for my large size head. I wish they offered a larger size rather than a one size fits all.

Had some friends tell me this is a great option to use with a veil. Meh - I took a chance and tried it - didn't like it. Doesn' provide a tight seal - the hooks on the top are flimsy and loose. The adjustment band inside is cheap and loose and it doesn't stay on my head very well - wants to slip forward all the time.

I can’t compare it to anything because it’s my first pith helmet, but the construction seems solid. The rivets on the hooks aren’t going anywhere any time soon. The head liner is a little cheap feeling; kind of a foam plastic rather than leather. I have a larger head, 61 in euro sizing, and this item does not fit me like a proper hat should. That being said, when this is coupled with a veil for its intended purpose it’s more than sufficient. my Girlfriend has a smaller head and it fits her perfectly.

A little pricey, but in the end, there are no other beekeeper helmets like this on the market today!It's a unique vented helmet in that is has four upturned hooks just above where the brim meets the rounded portion... this facilitates connecting veil material that won't slip off once hooked securely. You "can" bend the hooks once the fabric is secured, but I found that not to be necessary.Most beekeeper helmets have hard plastic adjustable liners, this helmet has a VERY comfortable interior strap that even has an absorbent pad for your forehead. Very well ventilated, lightweight, comfort that will last for hours in the bee yard no matter what the weather is doing.I have a stack of white plastic beekeeper helmets that are never going to be used again. Mann Lake definitely has the best helmet I could find to date.I recommend it without hesitation and would certainly buy another one when and IF this one ever wears out. Very Pleased.

A great ventilated helmet! The four exterior hooks swivel so they can be rotated to any desired position to accommodate various bee veils. The helmet is very strong yet porous to enable perspiration and air to circulate away and make it cool to wear.
