I gifted the Martin Smith UK-222-RD Ukulele in red to my 12-year-old during the holidays, and it’s been such a hit! This is just painted on bars and fingerboard not separate pieces put together like nicer quality ukes. I guess you get what you pay for but it looks like sloppy workmanship and very cheap. I am returning. I didn’t even attempt to tune the strings but it looks like the strings will tune fine enough.

The strings are so cheap. They’re hard to tune and even if I get close they stretch out again so fast.

I love this beautiful red Ukulele! The quality is very good and strong! My 3 year old loves it always carrying it around the house! She starts her lessons soon and I know this ukulele will stand the distance with her!

This is a pretty instrument, though mine had a chip in the paint, quite noticeable, white showing through the red on the edge. I tried to tune it for a week before class, not realizing that the screw in the bushing was loose. It takes a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten, but it's easy once the problem is identified. If anyone's buying, save time and order a clip-on tuner at the same time. I wish I had.
