Personally, I was very disappointed when I first heard it. It sounded like a trash-can lid. However, after you break it in, it starts to sound more pleasing. It is what it is: a $35 crash. It's not comparable to even low-end Zildjian cymbals in my opinion, but if you need a crash to fill the role so you can keep your skills up and you don't care all that much about tone, this is as good a value as you can find.Would I buy it again? No. I am not a drummer, but primarily a guitarist, and its sound is beneath even my standards for what is acceptable. But, it was worth a try because it seemed very well rated and I don't gig or anything. So for now, I'm glad I bought it.

40 year player, 10 year hiatus, wife wanted a set, we both win. Hi hats are really clean and short, better than average, good bite . Crash is a standard rock crash with good harmonics and depth. The "free" 10" splash is crisp and fits well tonally with the others. This collection is really incredible for the price. I needed a set of cymbals for a practice set/jam set. When I saw these for under a hundred bucks, I thought I would try them because the reviews were great. There is a reason for this. These cymbals sound great. They are matched, so they sound well together. I can't stress how good these sound. These do not feel cheap like some others I have seen. Nice and solid with deep grooves and a bright finish. If your reading this, then you will eventually come back and buy these. You're welcome.

I'm a full time musician who plays guitar, uke, and piano. I just started teaching myself drums over the past few years after buying a cheap kit that came with really bad hi hat cymbals. Since I started getting better at drums I finally decided to upgrade to some new cymbals. These sound great for the price and you definitely won't be disappointed with the quality of sound and look. They seemed to break in and sound better after a few plays. I'm not an expert on drums but do play with quite a few drummers and I would say these would even get you by at a live pro gig. For my purposes of just learning and practicing at home they are great. I've even started recording them and they work fine. Amazing for beginners good to great for amateurs and pros. Ordered them and they came quickly with Prime shipping as promised.

I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw the price but that's what I get for being a skeptic because this cymbal set is fantastic!!! The cymbals sound amazing, they are strong but not too thick so I get the crisp bright sound that I personally like in cymbals, the set comes with a free pair of sticks and 3 free online lessons, I mean.....what more do you want and for only $99.00!!! I've never played Meinl brand cymbals before and like most people, I'm on a budget and anyone who is as passionate about music as I am, knows that it's a very expensive passion to have, especially being a drummer, so for me to receive everything that comes in the package, for only $99.00 and to have the sound that they have, is unbeatable! I looked at some cymbal box sets from other companies and nobody even comes close to Meinl's price and nobody else had as much product in one package deal either. I'm ready to start buying some more Meinl cymbals to complete my drum kit!
