bought this microphone foam filter to cut out the background nose of the furnace since I record in a basement. it does a great job and I needed something small enough that I knew would fit over my microphone without adding a ton of weight to the microphone arm.

I just received the penypeal Microphone Wind Shield Pop Filter Isolation Ball. Tried it out right away in my home studio. My room doesn't have a lot of ambiance, but the isolation ball did make a pleasing difference, giving me cleaner audio with almost zero ambience. My only concern is that is doesn't fit well on some of my mikes. even with the adapter for smailler diameters. My first use was on a RODE NT1 mic. Without the adapter, it was too loose, and the adapter was too small to pull over the NT1. I did finally use the adapter by stretching it over the mic with gentle force. Hopefull I haven't damaged the adapter. But, for what I do, it works great, and I plan to order another one.

This microphone wind shield does an okay job, but it's not exactly what I expected. It fits well on most mics and the five-sided design is decent at reducing background noise. The pop filter helps a bit with plosives, but it’s not as effective as some higher-end options I’ve used.The material feels a little flimsy, and the noise reduction isn’t as strong as advertised. It’s lightweight and portable, which is a plus, but the overall quality just doesn’t blow me away. It’s decent for the price, but if you’re looking for something more professional, you might want to spend a bit more.
