All I can say is WOW! I did not expect these guys to be of good resolution as they are but they are EVEN better! The kids have had so much fun with them and kept them busy looking at the most random of things for hours haha! My husband and I even found ourselves getting distracted with them. The detail in picture, you would think these were hundreds of dollars. Love the quality and fun/entertainment they bring to the kiddos!

Really cool toy. My 4 year old loves it. We look at all sorts of different things with it. It even helped get a splinter out of my finger. The color and design is cute and my son really likes it!

you have to have this product practically touching what you are looking at for it to focus properly. if not, everything is just a blur. This means you can only use on flat surfaces or on things that are not moving. Kids love it but I felt that it most of the time, they were not looking at a clear, focused image.

Overall, although this item works, it does so in a way that can be unintuitive to people. In terms of its appearance, the item comes just as picture. The color is true to the listing. It comes with the microscope itself and a short wire for charging it. It has the digital microscope at the top and a magnifying lens at the bottom. When the item is on, there is a flash light that turns on as well. This can make it very interesting for children. Since the lens is so much smaller than the screen of the microscope and you can't see where the lens is when looking at the screen, the light also helps the child direct the lens to the right place.I think the way this item works can be a bit unintuitive for younger children. You can get it to magnify and overall, the image quality is quite good. However, to get a good view, I have to basically press it against the item being explored. It does not work from afar like a regular magnifying less (it looses focus and you can't see anything). I can't see how you would explore an animal (such as shown on the listing) while the animal is still alive, as you have to press it against it to see. Given this, the view is so closed in and so different from real life (since its focused on a detail that you don't normally see), that my child was not quite grasping why it was showing what it was showing, and that this was part of the item being explored. That granted that my child is a recent 4yo. I would say that it may be better for someone older, as they should be able to think in abstract terms a little better.

Love this!! My kids are so curious about the world they live in and i love that they are so interesting in exploring now and not just sitting in front of a TV. Love that it comes with lights so you can actually see what you're zooming in on. Love it! Great purchase!

I'm giving 4 stars, but not because it isn't a 5 star kid's digital microscope. It is that. But it isn't more than that.I'll start with singing the unit's praises:- 20 bucks. That's what this costs today. (HINT Grandma who doesn't have any idea what a child should get for their birthday, this is better than socks and underwear. Might even be better than a gift card.)- Right out of the box, after charging, your little one can turn this on, set it in a table, on a piece of paper, on their own skin or clothing, on a leaf, whatever, and not just look at what the world is made of and what things look like up close, but can tap a button on the side of the handle to take a picture of it (not sure how many pics will fit on the internal memory, but it has some, and can accommodate a tf card if more space is required.)-It's soooo easy-peasy to use that once you figure it out or read the instructions, you can show a child once and they will "get it".-Competent unit for what it is.Total five star "more than just a toy" for a kid, I wish they had these a million years ago when I was a kid.Now the "not quite what I was after" part...Being a grown old man, my desired use was more grown up. Need to see a splinter in my finger. What in God's name is that thing on the dog? Wife has orchids, sometimes they get a new bump someplace, and it's good to know whether it's a bug or snail, a new leaf starting, a new flower stalk starting, or just a speck of crud that somehow found its way onto a plant. For those uses, not so great. The focal length is fixed, and very close to the unit. If you want clarity, you just set this down on the flat surface that contains or is the thing you're trying to look at, and you got it perfect. But if you are trying to hold this above a surface, you will be out of focus. And since the magnification is so high, even your heartbeat is enough to make it dance around wildly, no matter how "steady as a rock" your hands are.So would I pay 20 bucks to hand a kid this purple thingy with ears? Yeah, in a heartbeat, and odds are pretty darn good they're going to love it. Will it help you with your plants, your splinters, your pets, or reading the fine print? Mmmmmm, not so much.

We used this on so many things! Lol Once you see things magnified, it's kind of addictive. We examined bugs & flowers & material, like jeans & a flannel shirt. The light is very helpful & my grandsons just were so excited to see everything so up close. We had a lot of fun w this for sure!!

Not going to be of any interest to a young child to put this on top of an item, say a banana, just to see the black spot as a black blob enlarged.Totally misleading photo of the bee in the advert.11 pages of instruction to look at something on the computer; completely misses the point of a handheld magnifyer.Keep your money $25!, and find something else; maybe at a local museum shop that's a better item of interest for a child.

I bought this for my little 4 year old niece. I got the pink color one, I think it's a good value for money for the curious ones. Took us a little bit of time to figure out how to use. But so far we like it. It's not difficult to use, picture quality is ok too. And the size is small enough for her to carry it around. So far she is liking it.
