How To Determine Which Step Is the Best Fit for Your RV
Step 1 - Threshold
Make sure the rise of your threshold is between 5/8'' and 3/4''. If it is greater or less than either of these measurements, the door may not close properly.
Step 2 - Hinge Plate
You must have a gap of 3/8'' from the bottom of your entry and screen doors to the top of the threshold to allow room for the step hinge plate. Without this clearance, your door will not have sufficient room to close while the steps are down.
Step 3 - Step Height
Find your step height by measuring from the top of the threshold to the ground.
Step 4 - Door Width
Find the door width on the factory label located on the side or edge of the door.
If there is no label, measure the inside at the base of the door from flange to flange and refer to the fit chart below. Please note that the flange to flange measurement is the narrowest part of the door opening.

How to Install the StepAbove
Step 1
Remove the step transition strip between the threshold of the existing door and the floor.
Step 2
With the StepAbove in the downward position, center it in the door opening. Adjust the steps until the hinge plate is centered and flush against the threshold.
Step 3
With the StepAbove centered and flush against the threshold, attach one fastener in each of the top corner holes where the plate is notched.
Step 4
Lift the StepAbove and lock into place. Ensure that the latches have engaged with the flange of the door jamb. The latches may need to be adjusted in or out; this can be accomplished by loosening the bolts and sliding it into place. NOTE: Some doors may require the interior wood or trim work to be notched. For assistance with any modification, please call our Parts Department at 574-293-1581.
Step 5
Lower the steps and then shut both the screen door and the outside door to ensure they close properly with the StepAbove in the lowered position.
Step 6
Raise the StepAbove into the locked position and secure the hinge plate with the (6) remaining fasteners. There will be a gap between the hinge plate and the threshold. NOTE: The legs of the StepAbove are adjustable and may need to be retracted in order to fit inside the door opening.
Step 7
Make sure the StepAbove operates smoothly and aligns correctly.

We had the old steps in place on our 2009 Puma 25RS, it was time to change so we did. Installing the steps proved to be a little harder than I anticipated because of the screen door rubbing. Problem solved by trimming the bottom. Can’t wait to go camping again!

Wow, what a difference. These steps are VERY sturdy. They are very easy to install. Just pay attention to make sure you locate them correctly so they clear the door opening when raising and lowering as well as making sure the door closes when stairs are up or down. Next best thing about these is that my wife has no problem lowering and raising them. She really struggled with the folding stairs that came with our Tango. Highly recommend these for any and all RV's.

Well built and sturdy. 9in step is a little tough for my wife, I will be modifying, raising bottom step 1-1.5 in. Also ground support legs don't always catch, I have try to fix. Overall, these improve our rv safety.

So the stairs are installed. I did it at the campground. I actually had to cut my main door and screen door. They wouldn’t clear the steps. Once that was all done. They worked great. So if you have a little travel trailer like me. Be prepared to do some trimming and work and watch to make sure your threshold is actually in limits. Mine was not after reading more. But like I said I made them work. Amazing build quality and sturdy. Both my parents are disabled and I put these on our KZ Sportsman Classic 160RBT
