It feels sturdy and it acts as a hub for CDJs or Z1 and F! controllers.So far I'm having (fun) learning it's controls. I have an S5 and a FLX-6 but they're a bit big for working at home. This controller is a good size. The sound comes from an Z1 which is 24 bit so sound quality is good. It's a shame it can only be used with Traktor as I also use Serato and Rekordbox. If I had patience I could remap it to Serato and Rekordbox but I get bored doing that.

Hab’s ausprobiert und ja es ist eine gute Weiterentwicklung. Aber für mich als DJ kein Ersatz für einen Traktor S…Für Homemixing gut für Clubs denke ich eher nicht.

El único problema es que por el tamaño no le entran los viejos Traktor Modular Bag Y por el momento no hay en México, pero de ahí en fuera es estupendo!!!

Es un excelente controlador, los puertos usb múltiples permiten conectar f1, z1 y hasta otro dispositivo adicional y te creas un setup pro.Sólo hay una cosa que no me gusta usandolo solo, sin un mixer externo: el estar moviendo las perillas en modo mixer para que se calibren al uso para luego poder subir y bajar el volumen de los canales.Pero todo lo demás es muy bueno.

Coming from using the original Traktor Kontrol S4, using the X1 MK3 as my only controller (for now) seems like a good choice. While not yet taken advantage of all its features it allowed me to still do the style of mixing (house) I enjoy due to my familiarity with Traktor Pro software. While I’m able to create mixes fairly well knowing the software, the X1 simply has arranged access through a modular approach. And though it DOES NOT have on its own the level of control that a full deck controller would have (I.e. fader, tempo slider, headphone jack, and built-in sound card) it’s very capable of producing great results even standalone. . I noticed my song transitions were still consistent and smooth using the MK3 interface in comparison to using the S4. Switching modes between FX and mixer via the top rectangular button must be done vigilantly as you may believe you’re in one mode when you’re not. So if you’re using effects at the same time you’re wanting to blend tracks getting ready for a nice transition you might see the need for another add-on modular for sure. It’s great to be able to control Traktor with less ‘real estate’ with the advantage of portability the MK3 has. However now that one knob can control both effects in one mode and volume and EQ, in another, you must adjust the knob back to a reference point after switching modes. No doubt NI addressed this by visual cues in the displays on the unit that indicate which direction to turn the knob to reset to the correct position. Setting loops and hot cues is simple, so is adjusting the tempo or bpm manually.As this unit is all plastic one must take good care to avoid scratches when handling and transporting it. A good case is recommended.

Traktor is the best DJing software on the market. You wanna know why? It’s the looping and loop move functions; integrated in a way that every other software cannot compete with.The X1 mk3 gives you the ability to control these two functions with one knob and a shift key. Add this power to any modular digital DJ setup and nothing can stop you. Not to mention the enjoyment I get from being able to control multiple FX panels, hotcues, AND the master tempo. This little controller is the most bang for your buck.My only critique would be for anyone who plans on solely using the X1 without a dj mixer or any additional controller. Jumping between the mixer mode and FX mode can be very tricky especially when you’re mid-transition. So if u plan on getting this, make sure you have at least one other piece of hardware to control EQs and faders.My current setup consists of a DJM-450 and this Traktor X1 mk3 + MacBook Pro, and it’s my favorite setup I’ve used my entire DJing career of 15+ years. I started with an S2 mk1 that lasted me close to 10 years, then an S4 mk2, DDJ-FLX4 w Rekordbox, and finally my current setup. Using a Pioneer/Alphatheta DJM mixer and an X1 allows me to eventually integrate other hardware like a turntable or XDJs/CDJs without any obstacles. But at the end of the day, nothing can beat Traktor. I highly recommend this controller. 11.5/10, 6/5stars
