Picked this out to use at my workplace, as there are always pins somewhere on the carpeted floor.This is a pretty strong and hefty magnet and so far it's been doing a fantastic job, so we don't have to bend over or squat for every pin pickup.Highly recommend.

Worked really well picking up nails, screws an and other metal debris left by the contractors during a recent deck project. It works great on concrete, good on short grass, but not as well on medium or longer grass. The clearance is really low so it may pick things up but small humps or clumps of grass can catch what you picked up leaving it somewhere else. Hard packed gravel it does well. Not so much in loose or thick gravel. I would buy another one, but this thing seems like it will last a long time.

We used this to pick up screws out of gravel after redoing a semi trailer. It worked great and held so many screws. It is easy to push. We should have bought this years ago. If it saves one tire it was worth the price.

I recently wrapped up a major project and this magnetic nail sweeper was an absolute lifesaver! After finishing up a construction job, I needed a fast and reliable way to clear the worksite of metal debris, especially nails and screws. This tool worked like a charm! Like most of the reviewers, we just had our roof replaced and we were in "Nail-City" (including 4" screws). The contractor did do a pretty good job but after running this magnet rake over the driveway and paver blocks all I can say is OMG! It was awesome running the rake and hearing the "click-click-click" of everything metal being picked up by the magnet! Amazing.It's a very goof feature to be able to adjust the height. I did set it on the highest and wondered if it would be effective but it certainly was. The quality of the handle is a little suspect as it moves around in its setting and gives you a "cheap" feel to it. The magnet and housing is quality.I'd recommend this to anyone looking to keep their floors free of metal items - a very good workshop clean up tool as well. Great investment - saves tires and nails in your boots or sneakers and maybe a trip to your Doctor.

The magnetic force seems (subjectively) to be less than the advertised 30 pounds. However, it does pick up nails and screws; I just don't know if it got all of them from my lawn (we were the bullseye of Hurricane Ian, and therefore have a lot of roofing and other debris to deal with). Here in SW Florida we have St. Augustine grass. That's a very rough and thick grass that survives in our sub-tropical climate. I therefore had to adjust the box to maximum height for the wheels to lift it above the grass. Otherwise, it's a matter of dragging the metal box across the lawn without benefit of wheels. Since magnetic force works by the law of inverse squares, that means that the magnetic force decreases quickly as distance from objects increases. The force would be stronger with the box riding closer to the objects being picked up.As noted by others, the construction is cheap. The plastic wheels rotate without bearings on a threaded hub; and thus will not last as long as one would wish. The handle attachment is also cheap.As another reviewer noted, with this type of lawn, it's necessary to walk slowly and listen for the "tick" sound as a metallic object is picked up. That's actually pretty easy to hear. You then stop right away and remove the object. Otherwise, the grass scrapes if off and the object is left behind. Over a driveway or other such hard surface, you could lower the box and simply wait to dump all the objects after you've completed your sweep.The "bottom line" of my opinion is that this works, albeit with more difficulty and probably less well than I had hoped.
