Nothing to dislike, it is also lightweight.

This little radio is really neat. The speaker is nice and crisp and the volume can go quite high. The weather band can come in a little staticky but it depends on where you put the radio to get better reception clarity. I was able to get three of the WB channels quite clearly. The AM/FM comes in nice and clear once you tune the knob. I use this radio in my garage and it looks and works great!. Really happy with my purchase and I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a simple easy to use portable radio. What I like about this radio more is it’s made of pretty durable plastic and it takes batteries or you can plug it in to your wall socket.

We get a lot of power outages here this summer, so I wanted to get a weather band radio to have during those outages to get information about what’s going on, warnings etc. So 2 weeks after I received this radio, we had a 6 hour power outage. Turned the radio on (inserted 3 D size batteries) Weather band reception is great, immediately found a station, loud and clear. Power went out again a week later, same results. FM was fine, had to move the radio around a bit (normal.) AM reception seemed a little inferior, lots of noise. AM reception is alway noisy compared to FM. However, at night AM reception improves, less noise and stronger reception. There are reasons that radio reception may be weaker than it was in the past - interference from wi-fi signals, cordless phones, smart phone signals and noise from appliances. That being said, the quality is fine, well built. I would recommend this radio.

This item was a purchase for my 70 plus year old father. The sound quality is to be expected, OK. It actually pulls in pretty good reception on all formats. He was even able to pull in a very clear AM station. This unit will serve its purpose for music during garage sales, tackle swaps, and storms or bad weather.

Just received this and have only turned it on a couple of times. It seems to work fine. Reception is good and the controls obvious. Real test willl come if and when bad weather arrives and it surely will in the spring. May add to this blurb later.

I purchased this radio for power outages. It can be used without batteries - just plug it in!Sound and volume are pretty good. Since I haven't put batteries in it yet, I won't comment onbattery life.

I have really enjoyed the PRUNUS J-05 radio so far. I purchased it several months ago as I wanted a sensitive radio for the bathroom that could pick up a low power (100 watt) FM station across town that my other radios could not seem to pull in easily. These other radios required lot of fussing around to position them in exactly the right spot, which usually wasn't a practical place for a radio to be. The PRUNUS J-05 does an awesome job, and effortlessly pulls in the weakeat stations really well. It may require a full extension of the antenna for weak or distant FM stations. But the radio is able to be placed in a convenient spot and pulls in the weak/distant station I wanted to listen to, crystal clear. One thing that does take a little getting used to with the PRUNUS J-05 is the fact that you get some 'ghost signals' (repetitive signals) on either side of the actual signal that you want to listen to. These signals are usually just as listenable. As others have pointed out, it is similar to an older feature called "Automatic Frequency Control" or AFC that automatically switches over to the stronger signal if you tuned into a less listenable signal. This is rectified by making sure to tune into the actual source signal as opposed to these other ghosts signals. But it is a very small price to pay for such a sensitive radio at such a decent price point. As with other modern portable radios that are not at a premium price point, the only casualty (if there is one) might be the quality of the AM sound that you get. The signals come in strong and again this radio is more sensitive than any other I own (or equal to my smaller Sangean). But most radios I purchased in the last 5 to 10 years seem to have given up on providing any kind of treble resolution above 3 or 4k on the AM band. Older radios provided far greater treble resolution with AM (providing almost an additional octave of treble resolution). This is probably a holdover from the days when AM radio was still very viable for music (Top 40). But I guess I am showing my age here. A premium radio like the Crosley that I own sounds wonderful on FM and very respectable on AM, but the AM reception is basically nonexistent except for maybe a 50,000 watt Clear Channel station (and my Crosley has significant problems with AM ghost signals from way up the AM band that show up farther down the band). As others have noted, the PRUNUS J-05 is also very sensitive on the weather band. I pick up a couple of signals really well. Other radios I own with the weather band in the house can barely pick up one.As far is overall sound quality, the radio has a very decent sound quality, especially for FM talk radio. I find it has a decent amount of top end brilliance (on FM) that makes voices really stand out. Again, on AM radio there is not really high end to speak of. But the PRUNUS J-05 has a full sound that will project and definitely gets the job done. it has a pretty robust volume level, where it will project farther than any other radio I have in the house, save for my home stereo. Out of the box it may sound more brilliant than full, but give it time. It will eventually break in and the bottom end will get richer sounding, complimenting the top end.I highly recommend the PRUNUS J-05 and I would buy it again.

This is not a bad little radio. I find the weather channel very hard to get a good station. The FM is good though the tuner is not the best. The D batteries, not included, are pricy. I prefer the Panasonic which I bought at the same time for a few dollars more.

Radio is working condition but speaker inside is not bolted to the inside, is sloppy or broken and disattached, probably from rough handling during the time between factory and delivery.
