HSS Titanium Step Drill
This drill bit is made from HSS Titanium which offers increased durability, wear resistance, and long lifetime. It is also precision ground for accurate drilling - designed for heavy duty use. The special 135° degree split two-blade tip allows perfect self-centering and fast, clean drilling. The step drill has 10 common SAE sizes: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8, 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/4", 1-3/8".

Tip broke from the shaft after the 3rd hole. I was just drilling through standard electrical metal junction boxes. shaft broke off about 5 mm below the bit. Disappointing. It broke AFTER my return period, so now I have a bronze ornamental paperweight, which doesn't even sit flat to hold down paper properly!

Personally only use this for plastic, but on occasion it has withstood boring through softer metals. Still sharp after months of daily use

I used this to cut a hole in a plastic fermenter. I used it by hand and it worked well. The bit is sharp enough to cut the plastic clean.

Drill a small pilot hole first. Be patient. Go slow. Works on woods but i wouldn't not recommended it,

Needed an easy to use bit to cut a large hole for trolling motor bit and this bit was perfect to easily drill it in an aluminum angle stock.

Was concerned of its performance after reading some of the reviews. Honestly have no complaints. Used it throughout the boat I am rigging. Cleaned up a bunch of terribly deformed holes so I could use rubber grommets on them. Drilled new holes to its full diameter in Aluminum, sheet steel and fiberglass glued to wood. I have no issues with this step drill. It has a home in my tool box.

This tool was a present for my adult son, who is in the trades. He just got the opportunity to use it the other day, and it snapped the whole base right off. Yes, he knows how to use it! Now I get online to return it for my money back, and the window for returns closed on December 3rd!!! How was he to know to use it immediately to see if the thing is junk?! I am very disappointed in the return policy, and have to eat the cost, AND still have no tool. If the company has any conscience, they would refund my money. If they don't, steer clear of this tool!
