This is my second harness from this company. excellent quality. And the tone knobs do a perfect job of adjusting bass and treble. Do you don't have to bother touching your amp.

Pretty easy to install and no soldering at all! I liked these so much I brought the set for my Jazz Bass . When the PJ sets come out I’ll be purchasing two more . Great product and made very very well .

So why would you buy this? Easier to install. more clarity, better tone.Tone and clarity are no better than any non-solderless harness, I did A-Bs. It is tricky to install and if you know how to use a soldering iron, it takes longer to install this. The Kelling harnesses I have used have been far quicker.Tried it in a few basses and then put it in the bass I bought it for and it did not fit properly! I was left with having to shave wood off the inside of a $600 bas body, have a visible gap with the cover plates, or use another harness.Needless to say I used another harness and was annoyed enough that this one went in the trash. Others have obviously had better experiences but I would not buy again.

I'll echo what other people have said, the instructions could be a little more helpful. Beyond that, putting the wires in and connecting everything is very simple. Sounds good and drops right in.

Very nice wiring, fit great in my mim Pbass. Love the solder less connector. One thing to note is the volume & tone knobs won’t fit the new pot shafts they are thicker. Easy fix thou just a quick 1/4” drill bit, problem solved.

I recently upgraded a cheap Squier Precision bass with better pickups. I thought I would keep the original pots, but they started scratching after the upgrade. They didn't scratch as if too dusty when turning left and right, but only when I was playing. So I ordered this kit and Wow, did they bring the new pickups to life! Very happy with the purchase.Note that I had to enlarge the pickguard holes for the kit to fit in. Also, the jack socket is quite tight in the Squier's cavity: so much so that it created a shortcut when it pressed against the side. In the end, by placing it just right, I got it to work with having to reroute the cavity. Also, I pushed a bit too hard on a pole when trying to install a knob back, and the thing ripped from the harness!!! I thought I'd just ruined my purchase! I tried to reattach it as best as I could and, thank god, it still worked. So it's pretty solid. Just make sure you go with Fender size knobs: knobs for Squiers won't fit.

I bought this so that I could upgrade the pickup in a Squier Affinity p bass. The pots themselves are an upgrade over the originals and the solderless design meant that I didn’t have to invest in a soldering kit. Even as a complete novice, I was able to complete the entire job in a little under 40 minutes. The instructions are a little confusing. The bridge hot terminal is for the hot wire coming from the pickup, while the bridge ground is for the ground wire coming from the pickup. The strings ground is for the ground coming from the actual bridge. My Squier had another ground wire which I attached to the fourth terminal. All good.Note that if you have a Squier, you’ll need to expand the holes for the pots a bit, but I was able to do it by using a pair of old scissors as a reamer of sorts.

Amazing all around and brought new life to an old Squier Precision bass. Solid quality - build and feel. In my case the black wires were for the grounds (bridge and neck) and the 1 white was the hot neck. Super quick and easy to install, less than 5 mins. Would highly recommend! Thanks and nicely done

Very convenient solderless design. Works great and installed quickly. Purchased to allow easy pickup swapping to simplify experimentation. I didn't realize it would also improve sound quality in comparison to the stock Fender MIM wiring harness. Improved sweepable range for both tone and volume. No longer goes from bright to mud in less than half a twist. Even if I bury the tone for a warmer/darker quality it still retains clarity.

I installed this on my '71 P-Bass, doing the work myself. One issue I introduced was that the leads from the pickup and bridge ground were a bit short, so getting them into the spring-closing slots was a pain. So, make sure you leave several inches extra slack when installing your leads. The only issue with the unit is that the instructions are a bit misleading. The diagram for the P-Bass install, shows slots for: Bridge Hot, Bridge Gnd., String Gnd., and Spare Gnd. I was not sure what a String Ground or a Bridge Hot were. They could have explained they were talking about the pickups. Anyway, it would be good to show a diagram for the wiring from the actual pickup and actual bridge. Also, it wouldn't take much to make good step-by-step YouTube videos for each style of pickup/guitar. The one they have out there is more about the tone and such, and the install flashes by in like 3 seconds. C'mon guys... this is easy to do. Maybe experienced luthiers don't need the instructions at all, but this unit is obviously made for do-it-yourselfers, who need all the help we can get. Once installed, the unit works well and is very quiet.
