Somewhat flimsy but sufficiently sturdy to do what it's designed to do. Works great with spaghetti, linguini, fettuccini, etc.

The pasta scoop was what I was really after and it was nice but the tongs are really flimsy and one tooth broke in transit. Inexpensive though so still worth it for the scoop.

I bought this as a replacement when my daughter (39 and doesn't cook) melted one that was part of a set. I was concerned it may not be sturdy enough. They are and I love them!!! I highly recommend.

These are both highly functional items. They are not, however, a matched set, but something apparently put together as a set by the vendor. This is quite obvious, as the red colors aren't the same, and they style isn't the same. If this is a purchase for your home use, then that is likely fine. It if is, however, a gift, one might reconsider. As far as the functions, they work fine. The 'spoon with fingers' appears to be made of silicone or some fairly pliable plastic material, and does a great job lifting pasta. The handle is study, and comfortable in the hand. This is likely the higher quality of the 2 items. The 'tongs with fingers' functions well. The 'fingers' are of a more rigid plastic than the spoon implement. The metal seems less sturdy, etc. However, it has functioned well both times that I have used it. Time will tell how well this holds up. Both clean easily in the dishwasher.

Whether you're cooking spaghetti, linguine, or fettucine, this set is a must-have for all forms of long pasta. Otherwise you'll be fighting with uncooperative pieces that insist on flopping out of the plates and bowls.
