I paid more for this QUALITY I relied on once before, but ALL of these hooves shattered apart instantly into small sharp pieces! They were brittle and dried out and possibly old as opposed to typically strong and lasting for my dogs! What happened to the QUALITY? I did not return these, but I should have! I kept thinking the rest would be better but unfortunately that was not the case! ALL HOOVES ARE NOT EQUAL IN QUALITY! I cannot risk buying dangerous and bad hooves that break apart immediately into small pieces and your dogs have to be watched closely and taken away from my dogs in seconds to prevent the shattered sharp pieces from injuring them if swallowed! Now I have to find a new QUALITY Lasting and SAFETY Minded Vendor for hooves for my Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees Dogs they enjoy so much. I am saddened and disappointed!I rarely ever leave a negative review, but I would not want any precious dog to be seriously wounded by a dangerously splintered knife sharp shattered piece of a hoof, capable horrifically puncturing or fatally killing them! Most vets strongly recommend against any hooves! It is not a toss it and walk away treat. After these I just received, I am reluctant to giving them to my dogs at all even with my constant supervision. Yes, many dogs have been killed by splintered broken hooves! I think I am done entirely.I thought I was buying QUALITY USA hooves (no formaldehyde from China!) that cannot cause severe injury, help remove tartar but NOT break their teeth or injure their mouth and gums or worse! Brushing their teeth more religiously with flavored toothpaste would be the BEST! Do NOT buy these inferior hooves! Do NOT give these to your dogs!

I have a Scottish Terrier (16lb) and a Standard Poodle (60lb) and am always on the hunt for a treat that entices them both, but lasts the poodle longer than 3 seconds. I think I have found that with these! These hooves have been a huge hit with my girls and they last. They are the type to chew for 45 minutes or so, then leave it for another day. These seem to be scattered all around my house, but the girls really enjoy them and will go pick one up when I am sitting watching tv. They do get that slightly burnt hair smell when they chew them (like other horns and keratin chews I have bought in the past) but it doesn't really bother me. These are super affordable and a great treat to have on hand.

These things are absolutely the best thing I have found for my dog's chewing. My little dog is part chihuahua and part pug - and11 pound fuzzy little "meatloaf" - at her size, you wouldn't think she would be a problem chewer but when she suffered the onset of sudden blindness this year she started wandering around the house chewing on things - the bottoms of drapes! - t-shirts, a leather bag - oh, dear! And last year she had dental surgery because she has always had awful breath - had several teeth pulled, as well. So, I then had to try to get a toothbrush into her tiny mouth and brush her teeth every day. What a struggle! Even shortly after her dental surgery her teeth started smelling again. So, no question that I had to keep brushing! Well, the answer to both problems are these wonderful hooves. They are big but she is able to chew on them just fine, and gets huge satisfaction chewing on them. I put a tad of peanut butter inside one, a tiny squirt of fish oil, and she is happy. Also, since chewing on these every day (I give them to her for an hour or two each day), she does not go around looking for other things to chew on and ruin, AND her breath has no odor. In fact I took her to the vet recently for a check-up and the vet remarked at how clean her teeth are. And I don't have to brush her teeth all the time. Just a check every now and then. I am so HAPPY and grateful to have found these - CLEAN TEETH, fresh breath, and no nuisance and/or harmful household chewing. YIPPEEE! And they are lasting very well, too. Probably because of her smaller size, I still have all 10 hooves - some well worn, by now. Some still new in the bag. And when I say, "Lolly - hoof!" She comes a runnin'!

I don't think I have enough good things to say about this product. We have a 30 pound 8 mo old corgi who is an aggressive chewer and I don't like feeding him too many treats to distract from everything he shreds. But one hoof has lasted him several days - the picture of the hoof close-up is after about 3 hours of chewing. It's tasty to him, has an interesting texture and doesn't splinter or make him choke. No digestive issues, and it emits a slight smell, nothing too pungent. The manufacturer also sent us a delightful email (addressed to our dog, not us!) with a few notes about the product, which I loved, and it reminded me that it was made in the USA. Yay! It will take about a month for our pup to go through this bag, and then I will definitely buy more!

I just purchased this and gave to my dogs yesterday. My one dog chewed it apart very quickly, so it didn't last long. The other problem was this morning, she threw up all the little chunks she ingested. So, for me, I wouldn't buy this again.Update: 5/13/16 I received an email from Pawstruck.com asking how I liked my purchase. When I replied and said the hooves didn't sit well with my pups, the Manager offered to send me free samples of something else (bully sticks I picked) and so I'm waiting for those to arrive. Very good customer service.Update 5/17/16 - I received the bully sticks and the pups liked them very much. So if the hooves don't work for you, the bully sticks will. No shredding or pieces coming off. I would recommended these for sure.
