The good: The perch is made of what appears to be nice thick, quality pine wood. It was easy to assemble with included tools and instructions (even includes a little screwdriver!). The black window brackets come attached but you can move them to a second "setting" with predrilled holes - this was VERY handy and made it fit my window. The mat is as shown - thin but soft, and kind of a light tan color.The meh: Be sure you measure twice (or maybe three times). I measured, but once installed the board that braces against the wall was bent to a weird slightly off angle by the bottom of window trim. It *almost* fit and was still mostly secure, but I wouldn't have been able to look at the weird angle bent board. I almost returned it, but ended up disassembling it and used the wood top + painted it + my own wall brackets to make a perch. (As earlier stated, the wood is GOOD quality and thick!)

This is an awesome product for cats to look outside and very sturdy to hold two adult cats.Can be moved and cleaned. Highly recommend..

This shelf is well made a sturdy. My 14 lb cat jumps on and off it often and it never moves or dips down. It's nice and wide so my cat is able to sprawl out on it, which seems to make him very happy (The last one I got he was only able to sit like a loaf and it broke after a year). It was easy to ensemble and install, maybe took me 15 min at the most. The cover to put on the top is super soft and looks like something I could easily put in the washer when needed. This thing feels sturdy enough to last for years. I am super happy with every aspect of this shelf so five stars for sure.

I love that this is sturdy enough to support both of my cats (8 and 13 lbs). They love the soft covering and enjoy being able to see outside and bask in the sun. I have assembly 4 stars because it seemed straightforward but you’ll need some elbow grease to get the wood screws in; the starting holes didn’t do much. I also am disappointed I can’t completely close my window with the ledge hooked into the frame (see photo), but this may depend on the window. The upside is that it’s easily removable, without suction cups to unstick and remoisten. Overall they love it and it’s very sturdy, so I’ll just have to insulate the window gap if I want to leave it in long term.

This perch is great, had no problems assembling and securing to my window. I put it on my back door, which would’ve been tricky with just about every other design I saw when shopping.Love that the window sill depth is adjustable so I can use it on different windows in winter.I wish it came in a bigger size (my cat is huge though), other than that it’s perfect!

Very sturdy, easy to assemble. I don't like the cover, it should be made of a material that can be easily washed and dried as it is used for pets. Warning it will shrink.

Ah, sweet mystery of cat perches, at last I've found you! My house was built in 1936, and has original window frames, the counter levered vertical kind. I tried a suction cup perch once; those suction cups are not to be trusted. Most of them are cheaply made, anyway; if those work for you, take a pass on this review. If what you're looking for is something adjustable (within a range, as the description states, "not fit all windows"), sturdy in construction and function, that will last for at least the life of your pet, this is the perch you've been looking for.Packaging was careful but not ridiculously overpackaged. The box had a ding or two, but the product was protected.Assembly was easy as pie; the one screwdriver needed for assembly is included in the packaging. I have plenty of screwdrivers, so the absence of one wouldn't have been an issue for me. If you don't have a mess of tools lying around, you can still assemble this perch.Once completed, all I had to do was place the perch on the sill. Another advantage of this perch is it's portability. There are no adhesive strips, no velcro, no permanent damage to or modification of your existing window (especially important if you rent). It features a good bit of versatility, in terms of how long and wide a sill can be accommodated. Pay careful attention to the description to make sure this will work on the windows you have.The pad is rather thin; the velour is a bit coarse and looks like it might shed before too long, but that is such a non-issue in the face of its sturdiness and adjustability that it didn't detract from a five-star rating. I put a small fleece under the pad, and it's fine.It's big enough for one cat to lay across it lengthwise, or two cats if they're both facing out the window. You could put five cats on it in terms of weight, and it wouldn't budge or bow at all.20 years from now, I might need to get a new one. But for all intents and purposes, this is the last cat window perch you will ever need to buy. I love it so much that I bought a second one immediately after I got my cats' seal of approval. Buy this. Worth every penny--and it really isn't much more expensive that the suction cup/PVC pipes/cheap plastic fabric/as seen on TV type of perch. Your cats will thank you. Well, they'll probably just knock something off the counter, but they *will* love this perch.

I love this perch. It was easy to put together and is well made. I like that it's wood which makes it look modern and ensures it is strong. It fit on my window ledge perfectly and my cat has been perching there regularly as she has more space than she had on the mid-width ledge. I'm moving to a new apartment shortly that has very narrow ledges, so this will be even more useful. I highly recommend for anyone living in a small space that doesn't have the extra space for a cat tree, but wants to provide a comfortable kitty-approved perch.
