These new steel strings provide a variety of overtones with great projection, without any metallic sharpness. Evah Pirazzi Gold cello strings are extremely responsive and react quickly over the entire dynamic range; even with very gentle bow pressure. With their reduced playing-in time, the instrument achieves its full sound spectrum in no time. Each Evah Pirazzi Gold cello string has its own individual character and at the same time their interplay generates a wonderfully harmonious set. Beginning with a smooth and rich spectrum of sound colors, the A-string has a warm and silvery sound that will easily satisfy the expectations of soloists. Charm, brilliance, and lightness are the sound characteristics of the D-string. The seamless transition to the G-string adds a further nuance that can be heard. The sound becomes very grand and develops an impressive radiance, even straight after stringing. Vibrant and resonant the C-string was designed to provide the player with a focused direct sound that will inspire and at the same time bring this set to its powerful completion. The A and D strings have a high-tensile steel core and are wound with a precision chrome steel flat wire, while the G and C strings have a specially designed steel rope core with a top-quality tungsten winding. Beginners, get yourself this string. 1000% get it; it's a game changer. I went from dreading the A string to loving it in like 10 seconds, and I am still virtually brand new to the cello. This string will make you WANT to keep learning. So, so worth it.

I've been using Larsen A string and it always felt "metallic" to me. I tried this one on today and I LOVE IT right away! Now my cello finally sounds like a piece of instrument made of wood!

I tried this A-string based on some online reviews and can verify that it performs as intended. It provides a smooth (non-harsh) sounding A-string that blends well on my cello with my other strings. I'm now considering changing some of my lower strings as well as I do like the sound and feel of this string.

I saw the high reviews so I decided to try it. And when I got the string, the top of the string was broken.EDIT: they sent me a new string and it’s great! No problems!

I love it, Evah Pirazzi Gold are the best strings I have ever tried and can't replace them with other. I tried Evah Pirazzi Regular, Jargar and Larsen, but still keep with Pirazzi Gold. Warm sound and deep bass, easy to play and very fast respond.

Lovely sounding A string. Only available in 4/4 length; but i put it on my daughter's 3/4 with about 2-inches cut off at the end - still have lots of extra string wound up on the peg. Not the ideal situation; but it sounds much more bright and focused then the Larson before (which snapped after about 6 months of regular use). Wish they'd make a 3/4-length.

My daughter plays cello and broke her newLarsen A string and I replaced it with this. After she put it on and played I could tell the)difference right away she described the sound as "angels singing" and I would have to agree!
