The Plextor PlexWriter PX-891SAF and PX-891SAF PLUS 24X SATA DVD/RW Dual Layer Burner Drive
The PlexWriter's Plextor PX-891SAF and PX-891SAF PLUS 24X internal DVD/CD Super Multi Writer drives reads and writes DVD/CD at blazing fast speed of 24X. The PX-891SAF and PX-891SAF PLUS went through stringent testing procedures to ensure better compatibility for a wide variety of media brands currently available. They also incorporate a new improved chassis design to tremendously reduce noise and greatly improve writing quality. At 24X speed, air flow can cause bothersome acoustic noise. The PlexWriter's unique drive design regulates the air flows, reduces the amount of noise created, and enhances writing and reading quality.
The PX-891SAF PLUS model offers and Enhanced Laser Calibration to provide even more stable and reliable burning capabilities while extending the drive's lifespan for longer performance.

A stable DVD writer, with a SATA interface. It installs easily and uses the standard Windows driver. It works great, and I haven't seen any problems.

Most computers today don't come with DVD burners, I still have a need for one, this one works great at a good price, if you need one I highly recommend this one. Been using it for over a year with no problems.

After one of my computers crashed and lost my music collection, I decided to start the project of ripping my entire >1000 audio CD collection. I decided to use “Exact Audio Copy” on Windows - they recommended Plextor drives, the AccurateRip database seemed to have good stats for the Plextor drives, so I got this one. Put it in an external case, hooked it up via USB to a Windows 11 machine (along with two new LG Blu-ray drives) and fired up three instances of Exact Audio Copy (one for each drive). Loaded CDs into all of them and started ripping. First thing I noticed was that this drive was quite a bit faster than the other drives, and it seemed to have an easier time with dirty or damaged CDs than the other drives. When one of the other drives reported problems with a disk, I would put the disk in this drive, and more often than not, this Plextor would be able to read it without any problems! I was so pleased with the performance of this drive that I bought another Plextor drive!

My son plays many older games still on cd/dvd, so I got him this one. He installed it himself in about 15 minutes. Has been working great for a couple of years.

Good. This is better than all other brands i tried. DVD days are over. Now only one or two companies make. Many sell refurbished and residual stocks. Price on the higher side. But good

I am hoping its a true Plextor and not just a rebranded generic DVD Burner. Over a decade ago CD-Writers were over $500 each and the best and most reliable of them were made by Plextor.
