Plug and play. Mint found a driver with no problem. And it works great.

Been struggling with a failing wifi driver now for several weeks. Cant update, goes down multiple times daily. Only way to fix it was to reboot and then it might work for a few hours or a few minutes. Got this one because it said the driver was built in and did not need to be downloaded. With the bad wifi driver I had I wasnt sure that I would even be able to download a new driver. This worked like a charm, Plug and play for real. Plugged it in, new driver installed, I disabled the old one and have been using it problem free for two weeks now. LOVE how easy it was....and I'm a senior!

Got this because the wifi card in my laptop kept crashing on sleep, and I couldn't fully disable wake on wireless without entirely disabling the wifi driver. This is a simple, functional wifi dongle that fits in the port and doesn't try to have fancy features that cause OS crashes.

After manually compiling and installing the drivers (30mins with make -j4) for rtl8188eus from aircrack-ng's github repo I was able to get this into AP mode. There's no dual-band 5ghz and I must have skipped over it due to looking at so many products to find something reasonably priced. This works for what I wanted, a 2.4ghz AP-STA using the Pi's onboard wifi with this USB. If just using this as a client then it works out of the box and is recognized by Pi OS.

Piccola, compatta, semplice da installare e ad un costo contenuto. Il prodotto è funzionale, ma spendendo qualche euro in più si possono acquistare prodotti con una ricezione del segnale nettamente migliore.

So, I am looking at this product and thinking - no way this little thing can possibly do any good. Guess what... It works perfectly. My wireless was always a bit slow, but after I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 5000 series laptop from 8.1 to 10, the wireless slowed to the point that it was unacceptable.. Tried all the usual solutions - no help.I have used other Plugable products so I thought I would give this a try. I appreciate good customer service, but what happened was simply over-the-top. Plugable Technologies sent me a link to download a driver even before I received the product. Once I received the product, the set up was easy and my wireless is now at lightning speed. What a difference. The tiny blinking light on the device assures me that the wireless is working. In my case, I actually ended up with a WiFi 2 setting which had to be set up and connected. I also determined, in my case, that it was helpful to disconnect my original WiFi setting so that only the WiFi 2 with the Plugable device was functioning as the main network adapter. When I have to reboot or restart my laptop, I notice that sometimes the system reverts to the old WiFi network adapter setting. No big deal. I simply disconnect it and re-activate or connect the new Plugable WiFi 2 setting. This gets a strong recommendation.Update: Have used this for almost one month and still works great.

Having recently converted to all wireless in the house, needed a wireless network connection for a windows 7 desktop. The choice was to install a PCI expansion card or go with a USB wireless device. Went the USB wireless device because it's so much easier to install and easier to move if I need to use it somewhere else. Plugged this in to the system with no connection to the internet, loaded the mini cd with the drivers and ran the very easy to find windows 7 install executable and wireless was up and running in about a minute. Seriously easy. After that, it looks to windows like any internal wireless adapter would look like on any laptop.

I was looking to increase my Wifi Strenght in my upstairs room. I looked into a few products which were aroud $45 and up. I am sure they might work too never tried any. I was not expecting this little USB to work as well as it is working. It has increased my WiFi Speed 400% atleast. It feels like I am next to the router. At first I installed the software given to me in CD and plug and play that device. But , I did not see any change that becuase I was still using my internal WiFi Card. ****Only when I realize there is something which says WiFi 2 that was this USB. I turned off WiFi 1 which was my built In card in my laptop and Turned on WiFi 2 which was this USB and reconnected the internet and the key is first time it asks you password again for the network After that my internet was running faster than I imagined there was practically no time at all to load any page as soon as I typed in the URL. DEFINITELY BUY IT . IT WORKS. But you must know how to use it.

The Wifi on my laptop got very flaky after upgrading to Windows 10 so I bought this as a cheap way to get it working again. After much messing around I couldn't get it working though so I contacted Plugable who got back within hours with some sensible non scripted suggestions and requested I used a tool they have to analyse the PCs logs etc. Once they had that they came straight back with the offer of a replacement which I could have got quickly from the UK or with a delay from the US so they could check it before posting. I chose the latter and on arrival, it worked first time.OK, the first was faulty but this was support at its best, fast responsive and helpful. The replacement works absolutely fine, no problems at all. being compact, I can leave it plugged in the USB port without worrying about it getting caught or breaking off. All in all, I'm very impressed.

OLD REVIEW: They work, kinda.I expected a little more range out of these. I tried in both Linux and Windows, and the distance and stability was inadequate for use on a headless machine. I kept them because in an emergency situation these would be better than nothing. I ordered two of these, and they both performed the same.NEW REVIEW: My earlier review panned them. The manufacturer/distributor contacted me offering to replace, refund or whatever would make me happy -- I kept them anyway. These little units don't like a failing AP, I found out. After several months, I lost all wireless connectivity and replaced the AP. Out of curiosity, I plugged these units in, and they worked like champs. No problem with connections, great speeds. If for no other reason, I am going to carry one of these in my fix-it bag, and use them as a "canary in a coal mine" If they won't work, it's early warning to switch out or upgrade an AP.
